Firstly I sort of expected to lose last night, they had key players coming back and the Brough appeal was always gonna bite us up the ‘ass’.
Secondly last nights abject performance hopefully is a one off and we can get some grit back in the next game.
Ukuma Ta’ai is a big miss for us as is Paul Clough in my opinion and with all due respect Mike Lawrence is not and never will be a prop, a good defender, but for me doesn’t bring enough to the game beyond that.
How many other teams would not have suffered if you said three of their top overseas signings would thus far have played less than ten games between them ?
Mamo has his downside but when fit I would play him every time in front of Gaskell in fact I’d be tempted to give Wardle centre and Mamo on the wing ago again as I feel it would add something that we don’t currently seem to have some get up and go down that side.
Leroy will take until the start of next season to return to where he was remember Micky De Vere and David Hodgson both took six months to get back to full speed.
Hopefully Cas do us a favour today and it will remain in our own hands and we can get back to playing better next week cos face it last night was just awful.
But overall even if we finish 9th/10th then we should be more than good enough at full strength to stay up with four games at home. Let’s be fair a few weeks ago we were bottom !!!
I believe long term Woolford will be good for us and already has a plan for the future we just need the current crop to dig in and give him that opportunity
I agree that Wardle should be playing in front of Gaskell, what a monumental waste of money he is, he can only be played at the moment to keep him in the shop window surely in the hope some club might take him off our hands (some hope!).
We will finish 9th, Catalan (as is happening at the moment) will win more games than us, they are a much better side, plain and simple. I suppose theres an outside chance that Leeds may implode, but i can only see us winning two more games at the very best, and realistically i expect 1.
I'm sorry but we can't continually hide behind injuries...they happen you have to deal with them...nearly every team has had them. Bottom line is we are either good enough or not, and for various reasons at the moment we probably aren't....and in many ways our own worst enemies in terms of discipline which is a major contributor...ultimately will get what we deserve...hopefully end up still in SL, and if so there needs to be major changes in attitudes, ambitions, playing staff at least.
