Was I dreaming, or did a representative of the RFL say just 2 weeks ago after the Leeds/Wigan game, that a points deduction was no longer a sanction, as administration was as of July last year a demotion issue due to breaking the rules of the franchise bid.

Arr yes- but that only applies if you are not Wigan, Leeds, saints, wire or Bradford.

To be honest it has to be taken on its merits and what state the club will be in after administration if it is going to be limping along and keep falling in and out of administration like Pompey it is best to put everyone out of their misery straight away but teams like Wakefield in RL and Leicester, Derby, Leeds and Southampton in football have not looked back. It is not right but nor is it right for big teams to go under due to bad management over a few years as opposed to a hundred odd years of history so as it stands it is a pill everyone else needs to swallow however bitter it might taste.
