Heard today there are only 500 tickets left at the LSV for Tonga V Cook islands,if so great news and great effort by all concerned.Lets fill the place and get it rocking

Frank the answer is no if they continue with the present halfbacks, the problem is the positions of Sinfield and Chase in the team seems to be set in stone (they must play at all costs).

I would have Hardacre at fullback with Tomkins and Burrow/Widdop at halfback which at least would give us that degree of unpredictability which can make the difference.

Burrow & Widdop would do at halfback but not Tomkins, he is best where he is.

I doubt we will see the real capacity, a ' sell out ' doesnt neccessarily mean a capacity attendance, the RFL have ( quite correctly ) been a lot cleverer this time, they have been releasing tickets at probably 80% of stand capacity initially with stands that face the main TV coverage camera's, leaving the stand with the camera's till last

A ' sell out ' means you have sold the tickets that have been released, in theory with modern ticket production every match could be a sell out

This is not a criticism of anybody, in fact it is a compliment

It was far from a sell out at Saints last night. Nearly all one side was empty.

I have to say the LSV looked superb last night and I hope that one day soon I can see us play to a crowd like that. On bommy neet n all.

I reckon at least two thirds of that crowd last night was current/potential Leigh supporters.......the work of the BOD now is to turn that latent support into bums on seats!!

A hell of a lot now rests on the decisions taken by the RFL and the 'gang of six' - it would be ironic, after hosting what looks like being the most successful RL World Cup ever, that the choices made could potentially see the death knell of the sport in this country!!

The other games I've attended (NZ v Samoa at HJ & Fiji v Ireland at Spotland) were also heavily supported by the locals......especially the Fijian locals in Rochdale!!



I think it would be safe to say that well over half those in attendance last night came from Leigh Centurions 'catchment' area - hopefully the RFL will release sales information, so we can see what the breakdown of 'local' v 'travelling' support was.....they were quite happy to do it when 'proving' how big the Welsh support was for Millenium Magic!!

Hopefully the club are asking the RFL for those details ( subject to the usual data protection etc) as there's ready made
list ripe for some targeted marketing.
I listened to the game on the radio and it sounded like a great night in the clubs history.

It was a night the ground gained a bit of history, and created a new great memory, hope it will be one of many more memorable night/ days in the future of the LSV .
We all have many memories we associate with Hilton Park, this will be one remembered from people of the town for many a year.
Well done all who made the occasion what is was.
