For those interested and on Friday's flight to Toulouse best time to catch a train to Carcassonne seems to me to be 11-42am. Gets there 58 minutes later and cost about 15 Euro. There are slightly faster but more expensive trains.

Will just jump on whichever train arrives first, I reckon!

The train we caught from Carcassonne to toulouse for 1st game was 14 euro

Just to confirm that the coach is booked for the midnight run back to Carcassonne. The coach will return to Limoux at 1am to pick up any stragglers. I will be on the bus to collect your 10 euros and generally help make sure you get back to your hotel.
The bus will leave from the centre of town in front of Limoux cinema (there's only one).

Thought I'd leave you guys a contact number in Limoux for any problems you might encounter, whether it be local info needed to get to the ground or how to find the bus back home (10€, not a free trip Im afraid) or the nearest chemist for alka seltzer.
Yes, at the moment there are a few problems with train strikes. It should be OK by Saturday but I'll keep you posted on here about developments. (Bear in mind that hitching is an option if the worst comes to the worst, particularly on the road from Carcassonne to Limoux, as everyone understands how poor the public transport system is here... You just have to be careful not to spill your beer in the car)

yeh,you can hitchhike and if you are coming from Toulouse the easiest place to pick up a lift is at the 'peage' at the entrance to the motorway at the barrier where every car has to stop to pick up a toll ticket - car hire (from the airport for example) is another option but you will obviously need your driving licence - bon voyage

The rail europe site is down, can you check something for us.

We can get to Paris but need to know some options for trains to Carcassonne via either Avignon or Toulouse on Friday. I know there are plenty of options but cant work out which lines are striking or not.

Any ideas?
