We don't need the needless antagonising and needless niggling throughout the game when we can play good rugby.
The fracas against fax was no surprise. Also the ref could, and should have controlled the game better.

The buck stops at and with the ref, see the difference with Thaler on Sunday he reads the game and calms it down through dialogue. The clowns we are seeing recently seem more concerned with keeping the score down by allowing the niggling actions that eventually cause the major problems

Games could be better handled but refs don't hit late, retaliate or swear at TJs. Blaming the ref is an easy cop out when someone is unable to admit a problem with discipline.

The problem is what else do you do? Teams are coming & playing a hard niggley game against us, we're giving it back to them (always said it's only the physical niggly teams that have a problem with us, look at London, their captain complimented the way we played against them both times). It's a bit of a catch 22 situation really, more it goes on more we'll get a reputation & the more opponents will do it thinking it works (it's never worked yet, well not in the last 24 games), don't respond to it & opponents will feel they can get away with it freely & do it even more. Only real solution is better refs who police it properly & set that tone right from the start of the game (not likely in The Championship).

Fighting evolves in matches through often poor reffing and certainly indiscipline from players.

But to say it is "a part of rugby" almost condones it.

The powers that be should fine both clubs like they do in football.

Ant not attacking you but have you ever played the game before?? It's a hard niggly game is rugby it is played by men not like football as long as they shake hands at the end it's fair play!!! I don't condone dissent!!

I have played the game. I first supported Leigh in Woody's era so of course I was always going to take to the field myself!

Any contact sport can boil over, admittedly, but it shouldn't go unpunished, IMO. Especially when it's the kind of brawl that was on show on Sunday.

Appriecate that matey but I wouldn't like our lads too go out and be bullied on the pitch will never knock any lad for fighting on the pitch! The dissent is a massive worry and will hurt us!!!

If you check out my other thread, Oggy; with the likes of Wilkes, Goulden, Beswick etc in our squad, I am sure we'll never be bullied.

Plus, [iany[/i team can stand up for themselves, really, because there are more ways of doing that than a punch up.

I never fought really in my playing days (in a rugby match or football match) I just never stopped tackling and getting stuck in. If you get hit hard, or are victim of a bad challenge, just hit 'em back harder still when you get chance. You get more respect that way too. You don't have to mouth off or go chasing players across the field to drop 'em.

Agreed, the only games this season where there has been a 'punch up' in all 3 Divisions, have been one's involving Leigh Centurions. Think the club need to get former football/rugby player ant7t2 on board, to stop players reacting in the 'heat of the moment'. It may mean we lose a few games, but who cares !

No. The solution is in the coaches hands. If there comes a time when team performance/results start to be affected by individual players, then the coach will take steps to fix it. If the team performance is unaffected, then the coach will feel he has the balance right in the teams he selects.

What do you suggest they do, more lengthy bans and bigger fines?

To be honest Reffy,I would create an incentive,double the fines but 70/30..70% of the fine to the RFL and 30% to the player/ref/touch judge, the offense was committed on.If the offending player doesn't commit a similar offense within 12 months then that player will get 20% back from the RFL.
