RFL have messed up with relegating 2 teams from 10 clubs. We knew the rules about Toulouse. The fact about 2 going down is it was unfare even before a match had been played this season.

Is it actually set in stone that, with Toulouse finishing in the bottom two and with them being immune from relegation, the team above them go down?

If not I think that they should only relegate Donny and promote two teams to bring the number of clubs in the Championship up to twelve making it unnecessary to have blank weeks (which is what I'm sure they would have done had Gateshead been in that position).

Anyway, if you do go down as seems likely I am really sorry and hope you bounce back at the first attempt as I'm sure you will.

Feel absolutely gutted it has taken the shine off a very good performance and at the moment i cant think of anything positive about our plight right now but maybe in a few days when i am over it and i think of the team we will have there is only one way for us really and that is straight back to the championship but as for now

Farce! where has the sportsmanship gone in the game? All you that are putting we deserve to go down and its our own fault just look at the table. We dont deserve it at all as we are not in the relegation zone! the rugby league is a farce and no doubt that this is just going to turn people away from rugby league and our club. Sad sad day

Relegation is a good thing though, remember? Promotion and relegation from Super League should never have been scrapped, remember?

The reason we are going down is because we weren't good enough, our players didn't perform when it mattered and the coach couldn't motivate them.
It's ok blaming the RFL for letting a french team who can't be relegated and lettting Gateshead have a different policy on Aussie players to the rest of the league.
Both the Rowleys need to fall on their swords but I doubt that will happen.

Yes, but it was. So why wasn't it scrapped at this level? Why are some clubs exempt and others not? Why do clubs play to so many different sets of rules? It's farcial.

Imagine a sport where all of it's clubs play by the same rules. Ahh yes, football. The most successful sport in the world.

We don't get much from the RFL anymore anyway. All championship clubs should break away, have our own rules etc etc. Where would that leave Toulouse and Gateshead.

Heres another thing to think about, should Gateshead be found to have breached VISA regs, could we sue the RFL for loss of income

Its not that simple though is it, football is successful for a number of reasons, one of them being that it expanded across the globe and another being that your not likely to be seriously injured playing it. Football is trying to crack the Australian and American market, and guess what, their leagues run on a franchise system and teams are denied entry if the governing body don’t think they will be beneficial to the league. We don’t have the luxury of waiting another 50 years for the game in France and outside of the M62 to grow into a professional outfit naturally, by that time Union will have swallowed up everything in its path. These areas need a shot in the arm.

All the same, good luck in your promotion challenge next season, and who knows the RFL might have a last minute change of heart and only relegate Doncaster.



They would probably be invited to join Superleague. Good luck securing a lucrative TV contract to broadcast Batley vs Dewsbury every week though.

So lets relegate the celtic clowns and doncaster and the french goons all three are in the relegation spots

Also get rid of the quota rules. Get rid of the cap, and swap for system where a club can afford it then so be it system.
