I dont know nothing about Leigh`s finances but I hear what players are asking for and a lot of the time they get somewhere near what they are asking. On that note its not hard to see that Leigh will have spent a fair wedge this season with the players they have brought in. Its really not rocket science.

I stopped reading anything posted on this forum by 'Greg Florimo's Boots' a long time ago.

Incidently by the time Greg Florimo arrived on Halifax's doorstep he was just another over paid Aussie delaying his old age retirement for one very final meal ticket. They were more than happy to oblige him.

He had a terrible season at Wigan wrecked by injury and they paid him off which allowed Fax to get him on the cheap. He played most of his season at Fax in the Centres and you ask any Fax fan if they think he was just another overpaid Aussie.

I guess its hard to compare for some Leigh fans as they obviously havnt been blessed with watching that much top flight rugby over the years but in nearly 30 years of watching Fax,most of that in the top flight, Florimo would be in my top 3 centres that I have seen for Fax along with Schuster and Austin.

Is there any truth in the rumour that Mr Chairman is a closet Fax supporter

Grant Rid was about the time my old man took me to my first game. Whitfield was ok as was TA but really not in the same class as the players I mentioned. If anyone is was the Aussie Dave Woods who would be closest to getting in that top 3. Bouveng was ok as was Pearson.

Edit: forgot about Stuart Donlan who might just pip Dave a Woods to 4th........oh but then there was Watto I forget how blessed we have been with good players and good characters at Fax over the years.

Obviously not in the class as those mentioned but will forever be remembered fondly by Fax fans especially for his Grand a Final try against York that helped us avoid back to back relegations.

Whilst I applaud what Leigh have done as a club, by being able to assemble a good squad by pooling resources of board members and directors, I dont think that directors of the club should be on here scoffing at the finances of the Halifax club as I am sure Gary Hetherington wouldn't be......
if you know Tony Abbott the owner of halifax, you will know that he is an extremely wealthy businessman, who does not need to pool resources from anywhere else other than his own pocket, and clearly the 'unpaid rent' is due to reasons not in the public domain and certainly not because he cant afford it........

I think it is great that your director(s) get involved in the forums, and listen to the fans and take things on board, but there are things that should not be discussed by them on here and other clubs financial positions are one of them....its called tact and its not classy.
I doubt Tony will be pulling out he is trying to buy the Shay from the council and maybe that is why he is holding onto the £65k ??

Im sure he will try to convince you he got the ball down but after umpteen replays that gave no indication, this before benefit of the doubt, he looked as shocked as anyone the try was given. The comeback was on and the rest is history.
