Time for the club to reform , rebuild and get back up as the best club outside SL (which it had been consistantly more or less since day 1 ) and add further to it by being the club SL couldn't afford to turn away.

To be honest if he gets the players playing for Leigh giving 100% week in week out then I and many other Leythers will be very very happy regardless of Champ 1 , 2 or SL.

However I think the current crop of players at least owe it to the guy to give him a head start and actually keep us in this competition.

For him to have to start a league lower would be a disaster to be honest. Fingers crossed we can start putting some results together.

After looking through his interview in the Sporting Life, hopefully the players will realise that they are now playing for their future employment with Leigh. This is already the first kick up the backside which was needed. He may not yet be in the country but his rein has started.

That's how clever Millward is. We know he knows exactly what's been going on at Leigh and so do all the lads but to come out and say it in the press shows why he's such a good coach!

i for one will buy a season ticket for next season, but its now up to the board to ensure that season tickets are at a price that will encourage the fans to buy the season tickets...... a good price will bring back the fans, who have got so peed off with the crap they have been watching this season.

The fans know we can play better rugby than we are doing

But we have to hope that with Ian's announcement,the players start to shine, as they have to impress our new coach, also the players need to understand that this season is so close to being a disaster, if they don't want to play for Rowl's.......then for Gods sake play for the fans who pay hard earned money to watch them..............

and the coaching staff, need to learn by the mistakes they have witnessed
over this long long long season......do they know how to plan attacking rugby, answer is NO........man management skills 0/10

i still say that putting Rowls as head coach was Wrong, he wasn't ready for it, at this moment in time.......and if we don't start to win, we will be playing championship 1 ...next season...no pressure Rowls.......but with our for and against points, we are close to being there already....so Paul you need to sort something out mate

After the widnes game, i stood there and was singing there's only one Paul Rowley, so Paul if you are to be Ian's assistant watch and learn the master

With him being back in Oz for the last few years, just think of the improved training techniques, fitness regimes, attacking plays, & defense which he brought over in his first spell and now maybe at the next level.

It maybe a good thing that he has been back in Oz to take stock, and now he's ready to step upto the mark again for one of the biggest challenges of his career.

Providing he gets to grips with the league early, we have the best manager in the league by far if you ask me. I'll go and take my Cherry and White glasses off.

i am so excited, the one and only ian millward on his way back home, all those people who were not bothering going to fax on friday, get up and come along and cheer our boys on, we need to stay in this league, as if not its pointless having ian back, just so chuffed to have him back, i do hope im gets the final say on signings and not leave it to paul, it would not be fair on pr or im, the king is coming home long live the king.

I was in New York today on business and managed to log onto sportinglife in mid afternoon. My heart leaped about 3 feet when I saw the official news that he had signed up. My colleague was talking to me for about 5 minutes but I just kept saying yes every 10 seconds and nodding like a nodding dog - he didnt seemed to notice I was not paying any attention at all..I was in dreamland!

Absolutely fantastic news...as others have said it is time for the fans to back the club and put the last few months behind us. We need to back in numbers and cold hard cash. Make no mistake about it, this is a HUGE coup for the club. The amount of media attention is fantastic - there is no doubt that we mean business. If WE can hardly believe it I ber no-one else can either. You can tell from the comments from the man himself that he is passionate about coming back and has a soft spot for us - and we do for him. Yes he did leave us but realistically who could blame him?

But Basil cannot do it by himself. We and the players need to do our bit now. I am really hoping that the players will lift themselves, if not because the fans are buzzing but because they are playing for a new contract. At the very least there should be no lack of effort..they should running and tackling their blood to water. I just wish I could be at the next game because I suspect there will be a bit of a party atmosphere..

great news, found out this morning on the other side of the world, maybe we can stop going in ever decreasing circles, the last game at Hilton park was the last game i saw live and by the sound of it and a couple of gratefully recieved a dvds we seemed to have lost faith and direction and a belief in ourselves.
