I think if I was in that job I wouldn't need the RFL to tell me it was in my interest to have a successful club in the stadium. I wouldn't expect to go out with Leigh RL flyers, but I'm sure I'd find a way.

The job description is very strict , the best way I can describe it is as ' new external investment seeker '

It entails bringing in a percentage of corporate/sponsorship/business investment that have never invested in the club before over and above the salary they are paid

It is not for somebody to bring in fans

So basically they will be paid indirectly by the RFL to do what the RFL want them to do , if they dont do that the money could be stopped

we don't want empty seats - Leigh RLFC need to get them filled.

Even the footy teams are realising it - Scottish Premier League are letting kids in for a £1 and i think Sunderland are doing also - some of these kids will be future full paying adult ST holders.

For me Starbug is on the right lines - have the East stand as a family stand. Let local football, rugby, rugby union clubs, schools etc sell tickets - maybe at a slightly reduced rate - say £12 adults £2 kids. The Clubs, schools etc cam keep a % of the tickets sold - say 25%. Give each club, organisation etc 100 tickets.

if tickets/money goes missing - they dont get any more

Get a co to sponsor the stand - or a number of co's - what was it a few years ago - £10 for an U16 ST and they had McDonalds and a few others sponsoring it.

If Leigh do not get kids watching the games now, in 50 years time there may well be know Leigh RLFC if we stay at this level IMHO

Are we talking about the same role? I was under the impression I'd passed comment on the person in charge of promoting LSV, not the club itself.

I don't think I am Fred. I'm quite sure that it won't say - increase the average gate of clubs playing at the LSV by 50% as one of his targets.

However, I would be dismayed if he didn't have targets that could not be linked directly or indirectly to the numbers of bums on seats.

There should be some mutual agreement over marketing and promotions between the two organsiations as their futures could be intertwined.

Kids, U16 ST at £15 for all members of any sporting organisation with £5 being retained by that organisation to help that club keep kids in sport.

A kid with a paying adult is the one. Every "No win. No fee" solicitor will be rubbing his hands together with a kids only area. I think the issue needs to be taken back to the schools again and again and again. We also need to hit the streets in the local towns. The only real way to find out what the local public thinks about us is to get on the street and ask them. Ask the stayaways, what is keeping them away? Ask the never beens why have they never been and would they ever consider it. I know people dont think a lot about The Journal and The Reporter but these papers get read by more people than you think. A full front page advert is going to be seen by at least 20,000 maybe more people in our area.

Your right. I haven't lived in Leigh now for 3 years but its always at my mum and dads when I go at weekends.

Advertising in the town centre or in and around Asda would be better. Surely we can reach some kind of agreement with either or both.

allright then no differencial on the attendance figures from the corresponding fixture the previous year or similiar type.


Plus the ads were taken round the shops and businesses and only a limited amount were shown after promises to do so were made.

Complete apathy reigns in this town for a professional (or semi)club of any description.

Totally agree - we have lost 2 or 3 thousand fans over the last 15 years or so and I don't see many youngsters coming through the turnstyles to give hope for the future. I think you could advertise Leigh games in the middle of Coronation Street and still wouldn't make any difference!!!!!

I just don't know where the answer lies!
