Surely JT is the best tackler ever to play for Leigh? Not that i saw Boyd play but McTigue Potter etc would all take some beating as well.

To be fair Frank, that name related to his defence when playing Full-Back. For me he played his best rugby for us at Stand-off.....and it was during this period he earned the nickname "Magic"!!



He still wouldn't be in my dream 17 though!!

What a team full of World class players

We could go on forever on this one - what about the hardest forward we ever had - Charlie Pawsey, the stevedore from Salford, or Frank Kitchen who could catch pigeons on the wing. Then there was the legend that was Jimmy Ledgard, and also Bill Robinson - all Leigh internationals and capped whilst playing for Leigh.

Very true Reffy , but im a CLOWN not an RL Coach , being part of the Napoli Carolis though my Grandfather ,Enzo Merlin Amore Caroli , was a very highly thought of Athlete , he was a member of the Italian running team , delivering Pizzas by hand , no bike or car .He once said he would have loved a crack at playing on the wing for someone .

I am sure you could pick up the provisions he needs from Boots on Bradshawgate.

After being in the company of Charlie Jnr , Dico , and the other lads maybe a few cans of Deoderant wouldnt go amiss .

Mick Collins over Steve Donlan we are talking GB Tourist a centre who capt his country in Aussie Steve D was one of the great backs ever to put on a Leyth shirt
Great attacking and defensive player who played over I think it was 170 games on the trot he was also a great tactical player who could spot things others could,nt during a match, Mick was ok but never in the same class has Steve Donlan

I've chosen Turley at FB because of his wonderful all round ability, Ledgard,Risman,Eckersley & Johnson were all capped for GB in the FB position so we do have a hard choice ! Some people would say Turley's tackling might be suspect? He'd never need to tackle with that lot in front of him
