Halifax visit Widnes on Good Friday.

In a well run, well thought out and forward thinking sport that wants to make as many fixtures as attractive as possible to new (and lapsed) supporters along with ensuring the sport and its clubs are getting good gates (=Good finance into the club & sport - everyones happy) it would definatly be Leigh v Widnes (or vice versa) over Easter.

i hope the toulouse fixture is correct, seeing as its come from an excellent and reliable source in frank then its bound to be correct. a bit of sun on our backs at end of june, excellent, and sheffield away in the nrc, i see another train job frank, i will have to start saving now for that rather expsensive bottled beer you liked so much at the station

yes lynda, but not as tough as toulouse away followed by batley at home in 3 days as of last year.

Hope we get as many points from these games as we did those.

So we've no Easter games against the one team within 30 miles of us? FFS RFL!!

If you want to book your hols may I suggest the first week in July, the weather is always nice at that time of year

Never noticed that Matt, good idea. I can't though as will be preparing the coupon for the weekend of the 10th.

Still not managed to work out how many weeks we will have for the forecast comp but the first 4/5 weeks are fine then it looks like it might be 2 weeks off

They've got computers in France, sorted

I'll have to see how the first few weeks go. If I get alot of entries that only do it on the walk up on the sunday, then it would be unfair to have a comp that week as we would miss alot and don't forget we have a league table, so some may argue they would have got a high score that week so their average would suffer as a result.

Still lots to work out and the website to finish.

Would swap York to face Barra and Sheffield to face Hunslet and you're on to a winner.

I hope the Championship club owners raise this question with the RFL.
If I was losing a potential £8,000 (and thats being generous) and a chance to attract supporters to a decent looking fixture then I would be banging on the door asking why our biggest fixture has been ignored on the day we can attract a larger than average gate.

As I've said before on here - do you think Saints/W*gan, Leeds/B'ford, Cas/Wakey, or the Hull clubs would wear not getting their 'nice little earner' from the Easter fixtures? Would they hell!! They'd be up in arms - so why are the Championship clubs not raising a stink over it??

How would Leigh/Widnes local fixture work in who gets the gate money - ie the home game? Was this possibly a problem for having this fixture? Seems strange to not allow clubs input on fixtures - unless clubs currently getting Widnes or Leigh as their home fixture didn't want to move on a bigger than normal payout etc etc.

Well here is my fourpenneth on this.

The RFL' you would think' would want to see bigger crowds for all its' member clubs. Now what is the biggest potential crowd that a club like Leigh would draw on a Bank Holiday weekend other than a game with its' nearest neighbour in the Championship.

The fixture planners should be asked for an explanation but what is the point as they would not respond.

Well I will tell you the painfully obvious and that is that these fixture planners are braindead as are the management of the RFL for not reviewing the work of the fixture planners before sending out draft fixtures.

Mind you never forget the RFL chairman did say on National TV that the LSV did not exist even though he had been there. Now was that because he is a liar or because he is forgetfull or is it just that he is an overpaid underperforming moron ?
