Just got back from liverpool airport , the roads are as bad as I have ever seen them in around 30 years of driving

At 5 am the was a bloke trying to ride his motorbike down the lancs , he just had to stop and drag it off to the side , then on winwick lane it was down to 20 feet visibilty

On the way back they were dragging a 40 tonner off at haydock the opposite way , there were cars on their roofs on the M 62

I went to come back down winwick lane but the traffic was just stuck

Am now not going in work today , we are shut

Is he gonna get a flight today . glad you made it back in one piece .

His flight was 7.10 , delayed till 8 . 40

Not much chance of the game being on.

I’ve eventually made it to work but had to turn around twice, once because several other vehicles couldn’t get up the hill, side of Westleigh high, and then top of Bickershaw lane as a tanker was stuck, then when I got to Hindley had a detour to Platt Bridge to pick up a couple of co-workers stranded.

I can't even make it to work....atrocious conditions. And more of the same forecast for the next 10 days!

I am glad Tuesday is my day off thats for sure

Daughters not gone to college today, and just phoned me, living in a street with 25 houses, apparently only three of us have managed to get out of it and gone to work, her and all the other neighbours are out clearing the street in between snow ball fights, they’re having a great time.

Haha - I got out of bed, got dressed, got all my stuff together, walked out of the front door & was presented with chaos - no trams (not surprising really) and loads of cars and lorries stuck in a snow drift!!

And yes, I lost my optimism

You could be right it did take me just over one and half hours to get from Green Lane to Ince this morning .

Don't know what it's like in Leigh but we have about 8 inches here in Bramhall. Depression is staring to take a hold as 10.30 looms ever closer. Been a long time since I have seen this much snow. Wish I had learned to ski now.
