I was told this was a done deal weeks ago.
Not a winger anyway in my opinion and currently nowhere to put him.

| An ever increasing Leigh clique at Toronto. They have all been good players for us, but most of them do share one other characteristic (as well as being ex Leythers) - they failed to get us promoted in 2015!

Did any of these ex Leigh players now at Toronto turn down a contract at Leigh or where they free agents after being unwanted and released by our club?

I reckon, Patterson, Hoppy and Higgy weren't offered new contracts.

Well, I can think of one, who asked to be released to pursue a career in Australia - and ended up at Toronto! Some were released after having been found to have signed for Toronto part way through the season - and others did the honourable thing and played their hearts out for Leigh, before leaving to sign for Toronto at the end of the season. The latest ones have only left after their Leigh contracts expired, or they were told they weren't wanted.
All in all, a pretty mixed bag.

The Club didn't release them, the RFL contractual obligations did..Did they (the players) turn down new contracts on the table? Is open to debate.
Either way there was turmoil in camp at some point, and it is what it is.. Good luck to the lads who have found future employment, but the club comes first.

Indeedy, good luck to one and all, thanks for the memories and all that.
New regime/structure/culture at the club which all seems to bode well for the future short/medium/long term

| I have had a week or so away down Christchurch , t'interweb free, recuperating after being under the weather a little of late. Nothing severe and fully recovered now.
I hope nobody has been praising Acton whilst away Cokey, that will be enough to send me in to relapse.
Anyway I have been kept up to speed and abreast of current affairs.
Adam Higson to Toronto 2018 first surfaced towards the end of last season. No surprise at all.

Absolutely, a culture I think some from last season would find incredibly difficult if I am totally honest.
Look at the quality in that starting 1-17 Leigh side. I have previously spoken about the potential Drew Hutchison can make, not just next season but in the game in general and it is worth pointing out young Kyle Lovett, having already played 50 NRL first grade matches turned down a 2 year deal off Hull KR pre season, to sign for us.
Add in Baptiste to the mix, and that is a very very good Leigh team, no doubt about it.

| If Perez wanted to take the Toronto v Toulouse game 'on the road' and Toronto are serious about developing and growing the sport in Canada then they should have taken the match to Quebec.
Think about it.

For me it doesn't matter where they are from, if an Eskimo or a Arab puts on a Leigh shirt then he is a Leyther,I'm sure the Wolfpack feel the same, I'm really looking ford to the first fixture and feel it will be a very entertaining season.
As for the Leythers in the Wolfpack squad, personally I won't and haven't missed any of them, we have replaced them with better players.Obviously only my opinion.

Agreed Ian, you are quite right. Talking of Eskimo's, I've seen how he makes his house..........Igloos it.
Can't wait for the season to start, and see all our new recruits in action, and seeing ACTON bulldozing through the opposition.

To be honest I am looking forward to Jamie finally stepping up, playing long minutes and leading the young guns by example this season.

What are the odds on him playing first league game of the season - slim I reckon
