For mine the player's have to shoulder a bucket load of the responsibillity, most of them were brought to the club because they had gained a reputation of being quite good at their job, they prooved the opposite.
They could yet go down in history in our town as being the people responsible for the demise of an institution that has been a proimnent part of Leigh Life since the clubs foundation in 1878 a mere 140 years.

I guess we will lose a lot of the squad anyway after October as : the 3 Hull KR lads are on loan as are Rickey Bailey & Jonah Cunningham. Are we likely to retain any of the existing squad for 2019?

Depends if they willing to accept a pay cut and a part time contract. The so called superstars should not struggle to find a team. There a few of the remaining lads I would like us to keep but to be honest that’s only a handful the rest are better off moving on with us starting a fresh and building a squad that are willing to play for each other and want to win instead of the players that are just in it for a pay packet and not bothered about losing.

The squad we had we massively under performed in Feb & Early March. After that we were the 2nd best team in Championship, but it was too late!. Everyone shoulders some of the blame - DB, NJ, KC and especially the expensive squad of full-time players. But who loses out:
DB down £1 million or so - out of rugby league
NJ - out of rugby league
KC - out of rugby league
I am sure none of these people wanted it to end like this!
The majority of players generally find clubs (as did the 2017 Squad) - not sure if the contracts are better or worse - but those that have left so far have all gone into SL.
Hopefully the club can bounce back .

Without drifting though all the pages I would assume the 2 are Evans and Acton, thinking about other top earners not yet mentioned what about Hutchison, possibly Hood and Reynolds on a decent wedge as well

The last 3 have played nearly ever game so ud say they earn there money but the 1st 2 have no where near earned there money...Evans has probably played about 10 at best and Acton for the 3rd year running has had the last 2 months of the season off again with pay and that's not including the games he misses through the season also

Until the recent development at Fev's ground their pitch was by some distance shorter than the official minimum (although despite rumours to the contrary virtually maximum width) and I believe there are several other grounds that don't meet the supposed minimum dimensions either (including that of at least 1 SL club) so I doubt what you say can be taken as any sort of proof that Atherton couldn't be used.

Without wishing to over-simplify the problem between Centurions and the LSV, it needs all parties to get round a table and thrash out the issues. It's certainly been done before, to my knowledge.

The idea of a major stadium in Leigh, not being used by the local professional rugby club, is too ridiculous to contemplate! It won't be allowed to happen.

Correct, and if every counsellor with a Leigh ward do not move heaven and earth to stop it happening, then they should all be turfed out of office at the very next opportunity. And that goes for the MP as well. And Burnham can do one as Mayor of Greater Manchester, and President of the RFL, plus whatever other pointless titles he has accumulated!
