It's sad when departing leythers are bitter but this has been a very unusual season in which a new team has had to be created. I cannot see Derek gambling his investment on too many players who will not be with us next year so the next few days should be interesting with the remaining few who will be off to Toronto, yes Johnny we know who they are, playing a support role in the 8's. I wish all leythers could leave with the dignity of Chris hill, as the club paid the wages and supported them during their tenure.
It's almost time for the real thing and I for one can't wait, as whoever pulls on the jersey or owns the club or coaches us is a custodian of OUR club, built by our forefathers for their children and generations to come. Stay strong and let's get behind this band of brothers as we take on Goliath head on.

Of the players that are joining Toronto to date, I would say only one would I have personally taken to SL perhaps. Hardly detrimental to our future prosperity.

We will have better players within our ranks next season than those stepping down a division. The future is bright. Very bright.

Mitch Brown of Cronulla has signed for Leigh. Adding Mitch Brown to Matt Dawson more than adaquatley replaces a couple of the lads Toronto bound.

We are going to have a very accomplished back line to add to an increasingly impressive pack.

What is disappointing is that having been part of a fantastic squad of players and coaching staff over the last few years you feel the need to divulge team mates news on a fans forum. I suspect you have enjoyed the wealth and enjoyment provided by the board of directors over these last few years and if you move on do so gracefully and remember the good times and leave with a smile on your face.

one of last seasons signings commented that they were surprised by what a loose ship was being run by Our former coach, certain players were apparently getting away with murder, pretty much doing as they pleased in training and on the pitch. When challenged the response was simply 'they do a job for me' .... Thankfully looks like most of the rotten teeth have been pulled and replaced with some nice shiny disciplined ones.
Fair play to Jukes, he has kept the wheels on the bus, Cooke taking up some slack has had a visible impact, can't wait to see what happens when he gets Kieron in place.
