Reffy, I watched a boxing match and one hit below the belt twice and then he butted him and then the other boxer hit him back below the belt and head butted him too……....….No they didn't the ref stopped that from happening. There are so few full time refs the rest are not good enough, so stop defending the ones who are simply not up to scratch to officiate intense games. Cokey, I have said earlier up this thread that the ref made plenty errors yesterday, the main one not carding Hock which didn't help him later on in the game. It was also quite obvious to all but the sycophants that there is a nastiness about Leigh at the moment that gets more embarrassing every time the same pettiness is displayed, it was on show virtually from the start yesterday. There should be a good feeling given the long stretch of wins but it is being ruined by the posing, niggling and cheap shots. And before you come back with, "the nasty opposition start it", not always .

You can disagree , but 26 on the trot is all that matters, So I'll go with PR decisions.end of!

I will not come back with the opposition........ But what I will say,is that the ref must have control of a game from the start, and if they don't then it escalates into the niggling farce like it did yesterday.
And I'll reiterate, that some refs are simply just not good enough to officiate big games.

Reffy I'm neither in or out of the Hock fan club,I agree Gaz should have been at least Yellow Carded for the slap in the Fev player ,maybe it would have made the game a better spectacle we shall never know, but every team needs an Enforcer we have 2 from the days of Stan Owen ,and Derek Higgs, through to Timmy ,when Timmy left for Hull we had Costello, Andy Pucill, and Dave Smith ,in our pack,with due respect they wouldn't BOSS and Dominate other forwards,our pack at the moment has everything,Inn my previous post I left out Haggs and Sarsfield ,by accident,Haggs is a very skilful player can do most things,and I see Sarsfield as the running second row,giving us 6-12 players like a RL quality street bunch.Im abhor spitting , but I'd sooner have Gaz Hock inside my tent spitting out,than outside my tent spitting in,if you know what I mean?

Fev in defence - very, very average.

Fev conclusion - ****! And they'll be lucky to get anywhere near top 4.

Leythers - Loud and proud. A great atmosphere. .. I take a vulnerable young man to quite a few Leigh matches and he loves every minute of it. Yesterday was no different.

Reffy it was just a use of a phrase,I think controlled aggression is very effective and in Rowls we have a coach to do this no opposition will be successful in bossing us, but our pack can be very skilful as well.

There is talent throughout the squad which make the nastiness so unbelievable, hit the opponents with points instead of niggles and playground antics.

,but I feel you do Fev an injustice they are a decent team,they played a big chunk of the game a man down,and have a big robust pack ,I do like having a go at Refs as they always play it as they see it , though I agree being a bit more stronger early on it may have been a better game,our performance for me was around 6/10 yet we still won comfortably,still 3 points though and Fev still to come to the LSV.

I feel sorry for hock! Some people on here have been out for him since he signed for us! I don't think he has done much wrong since he joined us! It's was something or nothing on Sunday! Hock is a massive plus too our team. When the lads turn in him we should be worried but they work for him and know everyone of them would rather play with him than against!

You must have been watching a different game Reffy..Pathetic that Ref.And DONT even try too justify him..I've only watched 15 minutes and penalty,penalty all the way,but none given..Ref has no containment of the game,can't keep up with the play,and lose's the plot..

But the refereeing isn't going to suddenly improve and the tactics used against us isn't going to change. All part time teams will try to slow the game down. Leaves our reaction as the one thing we can control. Can't keep getting 3 cards a game.

It's all too easy for many opposing fans to brand the entire Leigh squad as thugs. In fact, such a blanket comment is a cheap-shot from fans really! It shows no appreciation or respect and smacks of jealousy and envy. It even shows a lack of intelligence, too, but who am I to judge?



Let's face facts, 26 wins on the bounce would be impossible to achieve with an entire squad of so-called thugs.

I had to settle for watching the game on telly at the weekend. In my opinion we haven't played well for a long time. There seems to be a lot of frustration in our performances, and dare I say it, expectancy to win. I can understand us being confident, but I do fear complacency could soon start creeping in. The game itself really was tit for tat, and the less biased fans would have seen that, with both sides having sly shots at each other. It doesn't matter who started it on the day, because the bad blood started on the day Mick Nanyn kicked the levelling conversion at POR.
Another thing to consider, is that you don't always have to play rugby in its purest form! The physical aggression, and indeed rule breaking are part of the game. The dark arts have been around for as long as the game itself, and I for one really don't mind it. It's all about planting the seed of doubt in an opponents mind, doing things that they'll remember next time round. It's all part of imposing superiority, as nasty as it is, but those psychological victories are just as important as playing free flowing, off the cuff rugby.
All in all, I think everyone needs to stop with all the,'you started it', caper, and accept that it is part and parcel, regardless of this new breed of purists declaring that it isn't anymore.

Everybody wants to win with classy long range tries, and Harlem globetrotter style plays every week, but I have admiration for the guys who know just how far to go in order to wind the opposition up.
This is the best Leigh side I've seen in my years watching the club, IMO better in a lot of ways than the Fev side that dominated for a few years. If we could manage a game like they could when they had Finn, as well as do what we do now, we would be almost perfect. It's okay saying,'if we play for 80 mins and everything sticks, somebody's gonna get a pasting', but equally we could have that shocker where nowt goes to hand and we get a hiding ourselves. I feel one of the two will happen against wire in the cup.
