We've just beaten the second place team in the league and almost scored 50 infront of one our best crowds in many years - our centre has scored a hat-trick and he's getting criticism. Are some Leythers never satisfied? Cheer up and enjoy the moment!

Ive already said , for me Armstrong one of my players of the Season , who will only get better .

Well looking at Sams reactions whenever he plays for Leigh I think he loves it at Leigh and would take a pay cut to stay with our club.

I was very pleased with the attendance and the game. We played well and there was a great atmosphere. Hopefully some of those who attended either for the first time ever or first time this season will attend more games. We will never get them all back of one game, but our crowds have steadily increased over the season. Based on what I have seen this season, we should not be looking at the teams in our division as our competition, but those above us. Been a long time coming but definitely the best leigh team I have seen since I first started watching - 83/84.

I use to think exactly the same but my perception has changed as the season has gone on, I sent TA a twitter message after the Dews away game where LK could of had 2 or 3 more tries if TA passed instead of trying to go it alone. I said he was an awesome player but needed to pass a bit more......... Lets just say he didnt like the comment and blocked me...... but the following couple weeks he started to pass more and LK and others started to get more posession from him and since he has become an even better player. I was in the match sponsors box friday night and was part of the discussion for MOM. TA / MR / SB / SH /were all in contention. TA edged slightly due to his hat trick.

As for Slammin Sam................ He aint going anywhere

Why is Armstrong getting grief for not passing? Are those commenting former disgruntled amateur wingers? He is the most natural centre we've had at this club in an age. Great step, quick bags tries for fun, lays a few on and always scores in big games. Not many English centres better than him in my opinion, this league or SL.

If you could get him to do that then you my friend can work miracles.

Paul Rowley was right everyone at Halifax are obsessed with anything about Sam Barlow, get over yourself he doesn't play for you anymore, he now plays for a decent club with a good coach.

Eric Ashton was possibly the best ever British centre and outside him was Billy Boston yet Ashton never passed to Boston if he thought he would get hammered or banged into touch. Give Armstrong some credit for looking after his winger

On occasion that would be the right thing to do, but with a 2 on 1 stepping inside and getting tackled isn't. That is my point.

Tom Armstrong is the best all round centre in the championship bar none. The lad has it all he's got the perfect athletic physique for a centre reasonable pace great footwork and can defend and also knows were the line is. Speaking with Liam Kay at the Hilton Park pub yesterday he stated he's really enjoyed playing outside such a top quality centre this season.

When we played Leeds he was the best outside back on the park and that is some compliment when you look at the players that were on that pitch that night and the only reason he's not been playing SL for the last few years since leaving Saints IMO is because he chose PT RL and a University education which is a very wise move looking long term.

I'm led to believe Tom was subject to some serious enquiries from TOP SL teams prior to signing of his new FT deal at Leigh and how anyone can find any fault with such a top class performer is completely beyond me but as they say everyone is entitled to an opinion......

Not only has it been a great season for our Teams performances , but some players have excelled this year , mostly the usual suspects ,Riddy , Ryan B , Tom Spenner , Tom G ,BOTH Hookers and Kay , but for me Tom Armstrong has been a Revelation , pure class ,its been a pleasure to watch our team this year , and the ride that is Leigh Centurions is not over yet .Cant wait for Sunday .

Tom Armstrong has been excellent this year. I think he started off good and has just seemed to get better and better almost every game. In my opinion (admittedly slightly biased) he should have been man of the match at the Leeds game.

Tom Armstrong is a class act, no doubt about that and as I posted earlier in the thread he his developing into a top player. In a couple of years we could be talking about one of the games top centres here.

Thats how highly I rate him.

I notice the prat who gave Sam a "bagging" is now conspicuous by his absence on this thread!
