This 'good news' story should have been released by the club when they were ready, not have it 'leaked' by someone who can't wait to be the first, regardless of whether they're involved in it or not. It's not their story to tell.

ts was Daves Tweet that started all this in all fairness, surely you are not having a go at Dave, all he was doing was trying to be positive!

As for me when I posted" Centurions Tv " it was a wild guess , as Ive never heard it from anyone in the club, and other then that my Steve wanted all the Chamionship clubs to do this, a couple of year back, it was one of his many ideas, that he spoke to the club about and as he has had loads of really good ones, but no one listened. I must agree with Mish , what could have been a good news story for the club shouldn't have been leaked by someone who sits in on the board meetings .

Not everybody will know about it just yet though .

I was referring to the fact that Dave hinted to it on Twitter which was then picked up and posted on here. Fred then took over and confirmed it.

I spoke to Fred about it last night so he knows how I feel. Why can't people just keep their traps shut and let the club announce their own good news for a change?

If someone puts out 'teasers' to advertise, then we can't complain if someone just guesses the answer. If Lynda got it right, she certainly didn't get it from the BOD.

All Dave said was that some news was forth coming no hint of what it was at all

So the BOD ( in DJ's presence ) hadn't discussed it , so who sanctioned it ?

I'd still go along with the pre-launch promo though Fred , It sounds fun and would get in the face of the target audience

It was Tiswallace post under yours Mish that made me think that , so I owe you an apology, but I was just guessing after having a bit of a laugh on the thread.

But if you're putting out teasers you should make sure you manage it (and the responses) from that point and try to build up the excitement about whatever the 'news' is. (And again, this is not about Lynda's guess, it's about Fred's response).

As members of various groups within the Centurions sometimes we all have access to information prior to it being made public and it's our moral responsibility to make sure we don't go blabbing about it before it's ready to be announced.

It should have been down to the club to make the announcement, not a member of the group trying to organise it.

So bloody what if it has come out like this. Who the hell cares. It's a great thing for the club if it comes off. Yet again we are going through a thread riddled with petty arguments. I'm getting a bit sick of this in fighting amoungst people who claim to be in it solely for the good of the club. Just get on and do it or don't do it. Well wouldn't it be nice - just for once - if the club could announce something themselves without someone trying to spoil it for them.

The announcement should always come from the club first. (as it should have about the arrangement with Wigan) The reason that it hasn't is that it's still being discussed - it's still a 'work in progress' . There are a group of people working on this and they are meeting again on Monday night to (hopefully) finalise things.

As for the BOD, I don't know whether they up to date with progress with this project. A member of the BOD is leading this. Presumably he will involve the rest of the BOD as and when he's ready.

I still think that, if we are putting 'teasers' into the public domain, then someone may well guess what's going on - and I'm sure that was the case with Lynda.

Oh, and when all the dust settles, I hope and believe this could be a good earner for the club, and a massive way of putting our 'brand' before potential supporters, and sponsors

For what it is worth, I saw the tweet in question the other week and straight away figured out what is was, I don't think it takes any real genius to have put two and two together and you really cannot blame any one individual for guessing correctly on here.

Sorry just to reiterate ONCE AGAIN. I am in no way laying any blame at Lynda's door for guessing correctly.

Apart from the way this has been handled, it will be really good for the club and it's fans and will give everyone the chance to 'get to know' our players and staff and obviously raise a bit of money for the club in return.

Teasers are a marketing strategy used by (for instance) TV companies it's a tried and tested method and this is what we have done in this instance something that we discussed in our last meeting and was decided on all we have to do is now have further discussions amongst ourselves and implement other things we have discussed and once the final arrangements are known John Roddy will present them to the BOD for their final agreement (or not).
We as a media group have been tasked by the BOD to put in place certain things so we will hardly go to a full Board meeting until those things are finalized, and before any clever dick says/asks it press bulletins are not in our remit.
I used the 'lucky guess' again as a marketing tool to gauge reaction from who will hopefully be our customers, something I note not one person has fully reacted to.
I took it on myself without consultation as I felt it was right to do as per above, something that John Roddy agreed with later but to be fair on him he had no choice as it was a done deed.
People on here go on about a lack of marketing we tried perhaps the simplest form of the 'art' and still get criticized hey ho so is life.

So I ask again the question How much would be a fair charge a) monthly b) seasonally? so hopefully we can suggest a figure in our pre-report.

Then it'll probably be discussed this coming Wednesday, when this months board meeting is.

I was thinking around £50 a year or £5 a month
