Actually I think the offending comments had all the sensitivity of Sepp Blatter.

It would seem we share a vision on this Jenky , 77,200 was the catchement figure I was given , so working in simple terms I make that 70,000 people who have never set foot inside the LSV or watched Leigh play RL , they are the target , and you are correct the ultimate target is to fill the stadium , if that means getting people ( kids and families ) in for free to sample what is on offer , then that IS what we will do , as you say , the club needs to become the focal point of the town

for the last few years ten years i have bought a season ticket even though i knew paying weekly would be more economical for me.
i regular miss 4 /5 games due to golf. i did it because it was my way of helping the club.

but i will not be paying £170 this year, that his just my personal perspective

I've been watching this thread develop, with interest, and would like to make a handful of personal observations:

- Yes, the season ticket is a less attractive proposition than it has been, mainly because we haven't increased prices over the past few seasons - at a significant cost to the club, who certainly haven't benefitted from 'frozen' prices, from their suppliers!

- We, as supporters are now at a stage where we have to make a difficult decision - are we willing to pay extra, if we can, to help the club out of a very precarious position? Now cannot be the time to think what we can squeeze out of the club - there's nothing left to squeeze!

- It's true that purchasing tickets prior to the Thursday before match day, is almost as 'attractive' as the season ticket. Of course, to look at the true cost of doing this, you have to factor in the cost of travelling to LSV twelve times to buy the tickets.

- The club will be monitoring fans' purchasing trends and will be prepared to adjust their selling policy. People are listening to what the fans want.

- As evidence of the latter point, the club WILL be providing fans with a discounted family ticket.

- Finally, one for the fans who queue up at the ticket office, each game - the club has been in discussions with LSV personnel, to amend the ticketing system, with the objective of speeding up the ticket purchasing process.

Fair enough , so you will just purchase individual match tickets and support the club when you attend , that's all anybody can do , and that's fantastic

And herein lies the problem.

What is more financially beneficial, a true supporter who sees every game regardless of opponant just as important as the last, or the glory hunter who picks and choses.

So there is no promotion?

But there is relagation (bar this season granted), and that is the biggest threat to the club.

We should help the club to become the best there is in this league.

I would sooner see a high flying championship club than an easy beat Super league one.

We have a great competition, and I am sure the RFL deep down inside wish SDL was as competitive.

This is why the RFL are tinkering with it, to make it greater and better.
Let's become THE team to beat, THE team everyone aspires to be like.

To do this the club needs crowds of 3,000+ every Match regardless of opponents, not the glory hunters ala Blackpool.

Dave , while I understand the sentiment , I'd modify it a tad , yes it'd be great to have 12,000 die hard ST holders , but that probably won't happen for a couple of years



Everybody is welcome , wether they are Gold members , LISA , Lottery and spend £ 500 pn merchandise , or are just somebody that watches the occasional game when they feel like it

But it is their reasoning that is the point here , you attend a sports event or not because you either want to or not , NOT because of what you perceive the club has or has not done , nobody is forcing anybody to do anything , it is as we are told ' a free world ' so it is up to every individual to make that decision

BUT , don't BLAME others for not as far as you are concerned having the ' perfect ' club , there are many things the club has done in recent years , and still does that I don't agree with , but I accept these things , I will try to influence the club to change them , only because I think they can do/be better

But there is only one reason I will ever decide to attend or not , and that is ME , my decision , not the clubs , nobody else to BLAME , just Me

Spot on Dave , " the best it can be in the league we are in " has to be the target , and also you are correct , 3,000 + is the initial target , 3,800 would finance the club to the maximum required spending as regards playing , coaching and junior development at Championship level , anything above that is a bonus , and also anything above that then starts to make you a potential viable SL entrant

Corporate Club - no idea but would estimate at least same as LISA £25k

Touchdown Club

Estimate - £20k

So baring in mind that's £90k of a £250k budget quoted for 2012 which equates to 36% of income needed from non ticket sales!

The whole point of disagreeing on season ticket prices is that it's going to :-

Be really difficult to sell any when buy weekly is cheaper
How do we entice new fans when we have a price point aligned with SL clubs

I would rather, pay what I paid last year, for my season ticket, to be honest, given what I already spend, every month, however I know the club needs the money more then ever this season, as we have to make up the money AT was putting in every month from somewhere.
Its just the way it is and people who cant afford to get one, no ones gonna slate um for it.
Its their choose.
The club just ask we all do what we can.
The bronze touchdown package could help some who struggle find the full amount all at once.

I think STEVES idea of a 10 match ticket book could work too, for them that may miss the odd game. Deffo worth a try.
Maybe the club could introduce a loyalty card, ie you purchase a shirt you get x amount of points, a season ticket x amount of points, a match ticket , some for being a lisa member/lottery,and so on, then next season you can, get a small reward off your renewal.
