bL00DY HELL, all this, over Leigh not signing an 'East Player', and a rather 'bitchy' club statement. It's amazing how when somebody 'knows/likes' a person who is being blamed/criticized what kind of reaction it can generate.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of this mess the statement from Leigh Centurions is totally out of order and hardly likely to enhance the Club's image. It doesn't help that a spokesperson couldn't be found who has a basic knowledge of the English language.

What a load of rubbish, the statement from Leigh RLFC is totally in order. In fact it doesn't go far enough in disclosing the treachery inflicted upon the club by a certain person,who has been named

It seems the club cant do right for doing wrong ,as the saying goes "You can please some of the people................."TUT!

And this is unneccessary , just as the presumptions about who made th statement

He's right too. What used to be a few grumbling old men in the tap room is now an infinate amount of people giving their opinion for the world to see.

Thats all well and good, but sometimes this opinion knocks the stuffing out of people and young lads wanting to play for the club, employees, volunteers; folk trying to do their best are so easily hung out to dry.

Hopefully it can all be resolved when it all calms down.

My thoughts are with Sam, everyone else involved is big and ugly enough to take it on the chin.

I have had time to digest things and reflect on this, if Salford have come in and nicked him then we have lost a fine potential signing......but we will move on, and up, without him..(I do hope not though!!!).

Its the lads choice, and if a better offer is made, and accepted, then theres nowt on here bound change that.

If he has gone, then good luck to him and lets move on .

If not, then lets welcome him aboard and move on.

And lets keep this new relationship on track, there are bigger things at stake here as we all well know.

There is nothing up with offering an opinion, nothing at all,it comes with living in a democracy & if Rowley doesn't like it he knows what he can do.

But if said opinions have a negative effect on the club, then I think we've got a problem on our hands. I don't think anyone is suggesting that messageboard rumour would be the sole factor in a player not signing for us, but it may play a part.

But do you honestly think an 18 year old lad who wants to play for Leigh deserves to be at the centre of a storm?

I'm assuming this was recently, as our 'young' replacement for Ian Watson!

It seems to me that the only person to come out of this unscathed is Sam himself. I know I will never know the whole story but here we have a promising young lad who wants to sign for his home town club and it looks like he may be prevented from doing so because of sour negotiations between his adviser and LRLFC.
As Mr.chairman states his adviser has appologised so he can't be blameless and the statement by the club was inappropriate and that should also be appologised for.
Good luck Sam in wherever your career goes, I am sure all Leigh fans wish you the best as well.

it seems that the guy fishwick has done what all agents do, and thast is get the best deal for his player, shame he had to use the cdnturions in this way to do it. but that's the mucky world of agents in rl i guess.

Truely from a neutrals point of view, but I'm amazed it's got this far. And there's only one reason for it - the post last week from Mr C informing the world (and Salford) what was happening.

If I was at Leigh I wouldn't have been happy and it looked to me like it was a 'guess what I've been doing today'.

Nothing should have been posted on here until it was on the dotted line, it's crazy, unprofessional and damages alot of reputations.

So so much happens behind the scenes at a rugby club, but you don't post all and sundry on an internet forum just to feed your own ego.

I don’t understand what the hell it has to do with East anyway!! if a player is playing Amateur which I presume East is an Amateur club breading players for there enjoyment of the game and if the possibility arises to go into the professional ranks then they should be proud of the work carried out and let the decision be 100% with the player!! Why are people from east acting like agents???? If the lad wanted to move to miners would there be such a fuss?? May be Leigh should pay an annual fee to the Amateur clubs for first dabs on players!! As to me this is a joke and seems that an amateur club has used there asset for financial gain instead of thinking about the lads future in the sport. If he’s good enough the money will come to him like all walks of life!!! Good luck to him I just hope in 3years time he is playing professional and not back at East because he’s sick of sitting in the reserves at an SL club!!

PS could someone let me know the rules as to signing players from amateur clubs??
