, Strange that but I seem to remember Sheffield playing very open attacking RL , right from their recieving of our kick off

Far too much consideration of the opposition sometimes , Good RL is good RL , play it and you win , dont play it and you lose

RL is a very simple game complicated by coaches at times , Cullen being the perfect example

It would be great to play say 'Fax and just go out and score for fun but, unfortunately you ned to stop them scoring too! Isn't their philosophy, 'you score 40 and we'll score 50'? (although this season it's been 'you score 10 and we'll score 50'!

Having seen them lose 56-40 at Fev the other week, I imagine Gateshead share the same philosophy

Barrow this week is a very winnable game, oh and by the way when we win we will be 6 points off them! Such a close league. What nobody will want now is to go on a losing run of 4 games anybody bar the top 3 will be relegated if they do!

It isn't out of sight if we somehow could manage a win, with how tight it is everywhere else



- I'd hope the players would have a renewed energy and confidence after the win on Sunday and I think a key to the Barrow game would be not to change the team, the side we had out on Sunday was probably as good as it's gunna get.

A decent backline with a stand off who can kick well and the pack is solid enough if they work hard and do the basics right like keep hold of the ball and don't give away daft penalties. Good options off the bench with Durbin and Morrision and Meekin who will come on and give you all they've got.

Cannot believe some of the comments on here - we have just scraped a win and now everybody is looking up instead of down.
If we lose on Saturday I believe we could be in the bottom 2 by Sunday, and we have no guarantee of success in any of the remaining games - Donny aside.
A tough few weeks ahead me thinks - and back to doom and gloom on here come Monday.

Barrow are nothing special Col.

Don't forget that we beat the inform side in the division on Sunday. The one that nearly put 50 points on Fax and on their day, can stuff anyone in the division.

Either way, its an improvement and should give the team the encouragement they need.

Although we grafted on Sunday, which I admit we haven't seen much of throughout the season, we only really did a job for the first half and the second half nearly turned into a complete disaster as we let a game slip that we shouldn't of.

At Barrow, I think we can give them a game if we can play for the full 80 minutes, they're in no great shapes at the moment and with a confidence boost on Sunday with the win, I'd expect at least a bonus point.

Dont know if it will make any difference but Brett McDermott wont be playing plus Andy Bracek has been charged with a grade c high tackle, case heard this week.

Plus Steve Deakin has been apponted caretaker coach til the end of the season with Dave Clark his assistant.

Sounds like a money man at the top who is expecting too much too soon. ATEOTD it's his money, but it don't guarentee success. Reckon it will only cause unrest, and may well benefit us on Saturday.

In practically every game this season our team has switched off for a few minutes during the game and second half on Sunday was par for the course and a classic example.

The way we played first half on Sunday and came back when Sheffield drew level gives me some optimism we will not finish in the bottom two.

80 minute rugby however is the order of the day for every player in every match we have left to play.

Re Saturday if Higson is fit should we play him ?

I wouldn't risk him until he is 100% fit. We need to be targetting our home games as winnable and give him his comeback in one of those.

Why change a winning side anyway?
