What a signing, possibly the biggest in the clubs history

Some decent comments from Hull FC fans who have been watching him in pre-season.

Mixed views on whether to sign him up permanently or not but they are a SL club and haven't got their 1st choice fullback out for 6 months. For a Championship club without a specialist fullback he is a fantastic signing. Seem to remember him causing us all sorts of problems for Wakey in the game at the LSV.

Everywhere you look it's salary cap meltdown time or a complete lack of knowledge as to what the capped rules are for the championship. Go for it Yorkies!!

Great versatile signing who can cover a few positions. Another player who's played at the top of the game adding more vital experience to the squad, for me it was a lack of experience (in knowing how to see off games & how to bounce back from defeats) that cost us in the Super 8s we definitely don't have that problem this year. I feel sorry for them. It can't be easy for them to understand the rules have changed. They don't like change, it un-nerves them, they just pretend everything is the same.

Atomic,BWW is being sarcastic due to the ex Salford players in our ranks, but we all know what they say about sarcasm,which is very true.

I don't even try to fathom salary cap in the SL or Championship. It is akin to working out the point scoring on QI.

That brings back memories.
I remember many moons ago when we had been promoted to the old first division (SL as now) at an away game at Sheffield Eagles that was actually played at Doncaster (anyone know where - be around the time Billy Benyon was in charge) and Peter had a less than brilliant performance as we lost when as he walked off an old women (must have been at least 80) opened her purse and threw 6 or 7 1pence coins on the floor in front of Peter and said 'I wouldn't pay you in pennies for that performance' before putting her headscarf on and storming off!

Not to say Yorkshire folk are tight but as we walked away I did notice a Sheffield fan hovering up the pennies off the floor and dispatching them in his pocket!

That's just roles reversed, Salford have a long history of poaaching Leigh's better players, as do some other Clubs.

Lee Smith is a quality signing, he has never got back to his best since going to the other code, he looks sow and cumbersome at times no where near the pace he had at one time but a good football brain on him and a fantastic goal kicker. I liked him at Wakey I am sure he will excel in the championship and has experience to assist in the middle 8s presuming you get there which should be a formality unless you implode as a team.

Brilliant signing..... can cover a lot of positions and will make McNally, Pownall and Higson work for their places
