I am also not bothered about the result. Friendlies are obviously not about that. However, I am sure you can understand the need for a balanced assessment of what took place yesterday. Salford did field some younger less experienced players yesterday, but so did Leigh (players who have not even played championship level rugby yet) . In addition, Leigh did not field even one overseas player (not even a Yorkie). I am not thrilled by the result, but I am pleased by the way Leigh stood up to a set of Salford players who are much more higly rated than themselves. If both Salford and Leigh were allowed to add say half a dozen Antipodeans to the lineups yesterday, we would also see a good competitive game. Unfortunately, Leigh will not enjoy that luxury this season, as we do not have one single quota player.

Listen pal you keep saying along with other leythers trying to make some sort of a point, buts its the same for almost every SL side and even before SL it was the case, actually my lobby gobbling friend od like you to name me one major sport in this country what doesn't rely on oversea's players? I do not blame Salford at all for investing heavily in overseas talent. They have to do it. If they did not and everybody else in Super League did, they simply would not compete. You are right to talk of other sports going down the overseas route. The Premiership is even worse for it than Super League. Good luck to you with your imports. Myself and the none Leigh fan Jim Bergerac were simply making a comment on many teams in Super league having to rely on overseas talent to compete. Years ago when Wigan were the only full time outfit in the elite league, they obviously dominated because it was not a level playing field. Similarly, if a Super League team containing eight or so decent Antipodeans takes on a championship side, in theory like you say, they should get a cricket score. Give the championship team eight good Aussies and they would obviously compete. Good luck for the season. I genuinely think you should go better this season. Let's hope so.

Early Nineties, and they were the only full-time club, 'cos all OUR leccy bills were paying their fekkin' wages!!

They obviously weren't generating enough from other revenue streams, as they ended up in the same financial mire as Leigh - were they ended up selling their only tangible asset (CP) to avoid going out of business!!

The result shows Leigh 13 Salford 12, so you still have to prove you will do fine. Obviously because its on so many boards, your team WAS held in higher esteem than usual, a compliment I think. Maybe the players aren't the problem though.

Half your salary cap? Are you sure? Just because they are on lots of Wilkos dosh doesn't mean they are world beaters. Youll be lucky to get 30 minutes a game out of Feka for starters

Just to update you Feka has believed to have lost nearly 4 stone over in NZ in their training camps, and talking to Harrison Hansen who I know well he assures me Feka can do the 80 if needed as he's done it countless times in the academy matches, wigan used him as an impact player as they had the quality to use him that way.

He's quite a good footballer as well he was at Bolton or maybe City for a while, change to RL at about 14.

Clay, and Matthew Haggerty also at Salford, along with Jonny Youds who was there but now at Widnes were all in the same LMR team as Nicholson and Pownall although he too only turned to league at about 14/15, he started off at Union.

I wonder if Salford have any players born within the City of Salford.....

Adam Higson was born in the City of Salford not that any of you lot would know that.
