IMO , I think Leigh would have won more convincingly if we had not lost our young scrum half Ryan Brierley to injury early in the second half and not had our stand off Riddy playing all that half on one leg, having literally hobbled off the pitch at half time.

We were also missing skipper Rob Parker in the front row and that is always a big loss however the replacement props were all able to stand up admirably in the end.

I am the only Leyther on here, the rest of you are Plastic Wigginers who have just accepted the merger.

Alex Murphy, John Woods, Tim Street, Des Drummond, Peter Smethurst, Joe Walsh, Dave Chisnall, Kevin Ashcroft et al they have all poured blood against the enemy and you set of Plastic Wigginers accept them as your saviours. You make me sick the lot of you. There isn't a true Leyther amongst you. Most of you probably haven't even seen a full blooded game of Leigh v Wigan. You probably haven't ever seen us stuff the pies.

You keep accepting the merger and it will come back to haunt you in a few years time when Wigan put their reserve coach in charge of Leigh and they play Leigh as a curtain raiser to the first team game played at the Wigan Sports Village. I bet in a couple of years Wigan Council will upgrade the WSV to seat 15,000 spectators.

I am guilty of being a passionate Leyther who is not accepting the merger with Wigan. I have no team to support because of this merger with Wigan and as long as this merger exists I will keep banging the drum for an Independent Leigh Rugby League Club because I believe that the players who have poured blood for this club deserve that.

You lot of plastic Wigginers who support this merger are shameful to Leigh.

I know this is a clique of Plastic Wigginers that's why a lot of people stay off this board. You all have to agree with each other and slap each other on the back. You don't like debate. Leigh players don't have to be born in Leigh you know that, they just have to be signed up on a proper contract , not a false loan or a DC. I'm against a merged Wigan/Leigh club. I'm massively proud to be a Leyther, that's why I won't have anything to do with a Leigh RL club that has sold the soul of the club to Wigan. That's why I will keep banging on about it until this ludicrous merger is dissolved.

Given the forthcoming restructuring and recent comments from the RFL (google for their twitter Q&A about the policy review) that is likely to lead to a significantly reduced DR system, it also flies in the face of actual evidence of the direction the game is moving in.

The DR system is a farce right now, but there is evidence it is going to change soon.

If it is ever dissolved I will be getting catching that 10:30 train from Mossley and then catching a buzz from Manchester to come and cheer my Leigh team on. After the game I will be catching the 6pm buzz back to Manchester and then catching the 7:18pm train back to Mossley. Then I will settle in front of the TV with a cup of tea and a piece of cake at about 8pm.

How many of you Plastic Wigginers would do that round trip every week????

Do you know, when Leigh were going under when John Stringer was in charge, I contacted SKY Sports. I was unemployed and every penny counted because we had 2 little babies to bring up. I started a collection for Leigh on SKY Sports with £5 (which was an absolutle fortune to me at the time) which went on to help save Leigh. DONT ANY OF YOU SAY I AM NOT A LEYTHER. I can't see the problem with what we are doing, what Swinton are doing is wrong, however their situation is different., they have been playing away from Swinton for a long time now and it's very difficult for them to get fans to LSV, so funds they have are limited and have to do this to stay in this league, wrong but that's why they are doing it.
It's not their fault it's the system that allows it that's so wrong.
