Harold I think all Leythers know you are a True Fan of our Great Club , we need to bond together at every available moment now , and you are MOST welcome along with everyone else to the LSV , I don't think anyone will be turned away , Nossy im sure you didn't mean what you said , I know we all regret saying things at times , even I do , lets unite for the good of Leigh Centurions , with the news at a SL reduction now in place , as YAZZ would say "The only way is UP ",Charlie knows .

Not sure I will be at the game on Sunday as I have come down with a heavy cold. It takes a lot longer to shift at my age so cheers for letting us all know about this Fred. For less than a fiver I can pour myself a hot toddy and watch us v their youngsters live in my living room.

Harold, the above was Your post on the wigan tv thread, I read that and it hacked me off earlier. I read it as thanking Fred for directing you to Wigan TV, then read your post on here and one and one may have created three, those coupled with a long week set me off.

So, if I have got the wrong idea through misinterpretation then please accept my apologies. I do get a bit touchy when I listen to a few pratts when having a beer in town after or before games, and again if I have it wrong then I apologise again for lumping you with them.

The facts will be that the team that takes the field will be better than ours on paper, so we start underdogs but if we get ahead I do hope we do not ease off like last year

If Wigan don't send what the club considers a decent side then I'm confident we won't arrange a friendly fixture against them next season. We have better options.

After seeing the first 13 names announced on the W***n website I already feel this is our best bet. I accept there's a few more names to be added yet, but it looks like they've lied to us (yet again) about the team they were bringing and its going to end up costing us money in terms of the match arrangements we made in good faith (unnecessary stands, stewards etc). Furthermore, even if they now add 6 regular first-teamers into the mix at the last minute, by announcing the kids and debuts first they've already put off some of their own fans from travelling, which also deprives us of money on the gate.

IMO next year we should ask Saints for a friendly. I'd be more inclined to trust them when they tell us what sort of team they're going to bring, and I think it would be a more fitting fixture in which to award Arthur's trophy, considering the amount of time he spent on the boards at both clubs.

Having got that off my chest, we tried our best to bring in quality opposition to get things started with a mouthwatering derby game. Whatever W***n do we can only play whats put in front of us. I'm still really looking forward to seeing this years squad in action, and still confident we'll be well worth watching this season. I understand the gripes of the W***n fans, but from a Leigh perspective it'll still be well worth the money. Come on Leythers.

Don't forget, whatever Wigan have said to Leigh will have been exaggerated further by your CEO to push sales, naturally.

Judging by his comments on here he seems satisfied with the team we're sending.

Don't know why we ask wigan they have never sent a strong team for this game yet would of been better asking saints or widnes and they would bring more fans too.i am looking forward to the Salford game more as I think they will bring a strong side .

Totaly agree with this post. Wouldn't suprise me if the Pies are a bit jealous with all the good news coming from here.
A game against Saints would be a more fitting one to give this trophy and would probably draw a bigger crowd.

But in all seriousness why do some leigh fans expect or even want a full Wigan side to come? A lot of fans of Wigan really enjoy watching the youngsters and mix them with some first team players and the new signings who will be 1st team players anyway and it will be a good game.

That is a very good point Fred. I recall everyone being let down by the squad St.Helens sent over for that fixture.

In all honesty there are three reasons why a lot of Leythers would like to see a strong Wign team.
First we would like to see how we would fair against them.
Second, because we used to be short of dosh and we needed a big Wigan following for the money. Oh and it's great to see a decent crowd at the LSV.
Third we would never let you live it down if we wupped your first team.

We want to see a good pie team to see how good we are you my beat us by 20-30 but be sure our lads will give you a game

a lot of the youngsters played a lot of first team last year and they will eventually be the corner stones of Wigan, if was home i would be more interested in watching the youngsters rather than all the first team.

One thing i don't agree with is shaun wane not coaching them tomorrow, its john winder.

Well its nearly time , Charlie is predicting a close game , and will forcast a score of Leigh 28 v Pies 22 ,hopefully a good game , plenty of Banter , and the Leigh public showing up in numbers to reward the BOM ,and PRs hard work .
