| That's all well and good in an ideal world Mo but IMO Fev , Fax and Leigh are doing things the right way with the slowly slowly catchy monkey approach , there's no point flogging a dead horse and throwing good money after bad to achieve a somewhat impossible dream .
Until we know which way the RFL cats going to jump next time and where they're shifting the goal posts to then it's sensible for us top untwinned clubs in the Championship to live within our means and enjoy whatever relative success comes our way .

| Quote ="Greg Florimos Boots"I would think so tbh but also think the chances of any team getting in are slim to none. I think our experience last time with the last set of licenses probably stands us in good stead and we probably made just enough noise to the RFL to make a good case to be included.
I heard financially we are a better prospect than both Fev and Leigh(Especially now Probiz got involved
) but thats really just hear say and its hard to say in that respect. In that regard all 3 teams are probably a better financial risk than the majority of SL but that really dosnt seem to add any weight in the RFL eyes.
Again on the fieid dosnt matter but since licensing was introduced Fax are the only team to win both major trophies.
The thing is though when you compare Fax and Leigh they are very similar and there isnt really that much that lets them down apart from the crowds but when you look at Fev you look at their crowds and their ground and do you really think they have a cat in hells chance of getting in to SL with their old ramshackle ground? The RFL do not want old traditional grounds in SL and if they had their way everyone would be playing at shiny new stadia with great facilities. Fev have no chance.'"
OK thanks for the reply mate, i to don't think there's anything between Leigh and Fax, and Fev in my view.

| If, as we all wish, P & R comes back as the only method of changing divisions then resources will have to be concentrated on where it counts, on the pitch. It is stating the obvious but it is the only criterion that matters in a fan's eyes.

| Quote ="salfordlad"We have much more potential than Fev.
There are too many Yorkshire teams in the top league already. They will never be better supported than Cas.
They are a pit village with no chance of ever drawing 2500 fans of their own. The terracing behind both ends is tiny and far too steep.
Daryl Powell has halitosis and they fiddle their gate figures.
Where would you put our flag Lynda ?
Oh and their pitch obviously suffers from subsidence. We must have a team with a level playing field.'"
Dont be fooled by the village thing, Rovers have the support of nearby towns of knottingley and ponte as well as all the surrounding villages we can pull from a fairly big population, many times in our history have we pulled bigger crowds than Cas and we can again. They got 9k against Lees with 4k Leeds there, that leaves them 5k fans. We got nearly 2.5k against barrow so were not that far behind them. Saying we will never pull 2500 of our own fans is stupid i would like to bet you a wager we top that this season. The terracing behind 1 goal is already gone and the pitch will be levelled.

Right ok
None the less that is a view that many ignorant people hold about Rovers and its wrong, Rovers would average 6/7 k in the top flight no bother

Are all these towns and villages you talk about the same places cas go hunting for fans?

| Fev will never grace SL via a selection process, I know they get plenty of extra help from Red Hall but when it comes to it they are not an attractive option for the powers

Oh sorry didnt realize that you met the targets the RFL set in regards to crowds. I stand corrected.............
You know the old saying you cant polish a turd, well at least you are trying to sprinkle glitter on it.

| I'm affraid that Fev have a very important card in their pack and his companies name was plastered all over the final of the World Club Challenge. Mr Probiz is right in there with the RFL and his work could be returned in favours of a promotional type. It's all hypothetical but a few very strange arrangements have been made in recent years.

| Don't need to Derek. It was there for all to see last night on worldwide television. I don't bother with what everyone has to say and "stories". If I did that I wouldn't work with most of the people in the TV and Film industry and they would have probably the same to say about me. I take as I see and find and always have done.

| So what did he pay to shake hands with the players and hand the trophy over. £200? RFL won't tell. The only people in RL who could afford to deal with this guy is Woody on his £200k plus salary. Probiz so far has been in and out at Cas Fax and wigan in the last 18 months.

| We will see how many turn up today as the Hunslet attendance was very poor. If we can't get 1800 which is our break even figure then what chance have we of a franchise. Fev are trying to reach the 2500. Avarage attendane needed, we so far are no where near that. Remember they decide in 2014

| Take attendances with a pinch of salt in terms of impressing people to win SL franchises.
Clubs could announce a gate of 10,000 today if they so wish (500 paying , 9500 complimentary)
We need to hit 1800 for reasons more important than impressing a franchise panel.

| Incidently - Didn't Salford gain 'attendances' of 8,000 fans in the championship at the time the franchises were due to be awarded a few years ago.
So what did they do then that they couldn't do in SuperLeague for the visit Wigan, Warrington, St.Helens and Leeds etc etc
I rest my case.

Attendances can be played with, look at our play off games at Fev, to suit needs. 200 paying speccies down over a season is only £25k so shouldn't be a worry, getting to a final and winning something is far more valuable.

| Seem to remember Leigh was also a pit village, Salford Lad, it was the first one the lads from Ackton Hall (former Fev pit) picketed during the strike. I believe Stan Wall, the former ref was the training officer. On the first day of the strike we were joined by lads' from Bold colliery which I believe was a St Helens pit.

I have already posted my post about Fev was tongue in cheek. My Dad was a miner at Bickershaw Collery
until he retired in 1983. He never worked during the strike.

| What people are forgetting here is
One we need good crowds to run the team we have and keep the club going, we don't want a repeat of oct 2011
Two we need good crowds to be accepted into SL
Does the town of Leigh want a team, if so we have to find a way of getting them in to support it!

| One) That's also my point.
Two) Forget all about gaining crowds for franchise purposes. Have the RFL indicated a Championship club will definitely win one?
And Three) See you at the match.
