Ian no doubt still has ambition to achieve great things as a top coach and that will have been a major factor in (IF poven) him taking up a SL position now.

No doubt relinquishing the club of his (alledged) SL salary will of been another factor in his decision.

I never expected him to last the duration of his contract. He was appointed to enable the club to tick an on field box. He has achieved it.

If we are still paying for a full time coach when Basils gone have we no choice given the finances to retain him.

Unless he's in the squad for tomorrow Matt. I would forget Harrison or Benson both have had their chances with other clubs now. We need a coach with the vision and knowledge of the modern game. A motivator and overall a boss. I really hope that this does not effect the rest of the season as it will turn the fans against Millward and all the good work will quickly be forgotten. I also hope that the club have an assurance that he won't plunder our squad when he leaves.

I hear that SKY have this new-fangled gear for recording items! (beyond me, as it's too high-tech!) Phil Clarke was down filming him, and a young local lad called Cameron Foster, will also be appearing.

Don't be silly, the players are employees of an insolvent company, if they are approached with a more favourable proposition they are entittled to accept or decline as they wish. Ian M can make an offer for any player from any team if he feels it is in the best interest of Castleford RLFC.

PR cannot be offered the job, he will cost the club a fortune well beyond his current friends and family contract the club are saddled with. He was the best 9 I have seen at Leigh, but he aint a coach.

With some luck PR can take on a community role with external funding, and we can bring in a new coaching team.

My fear in all of this are the signals coming from the Directors, who have all resigned I understand from the end of the season - I will repeat a true saying 'you never make money by saving money' - please note PC. We spent badly under PR, AR and AT, this years squad costs tens of thousands less than PR's last one. We cannot go back to trhem dark days.

Keiron Purtill is highly respected at Saints and as close links in Leigh so why not give him the opportunity to become head coach we could do worse

Although I would not like to see Paul as our head coach neither do I want to see him leave the club. Our players are in the best shape I have ever seen them in. They compete for a full 80 mins and that must have something to do with the person in charge of their conditioning.

Rolls does far far more than conditioning, why do people think we have one of the best defenses in the league?

He indeed is a plank of the highest order,with what you and the Saints supporters are saying,I firmly believe we have got the right man for the job,good luck for the rest of the season.

Robbie Paul as coach?

If PR is given the job, then thats the last time I'll waste fuel money coming over. He caused disruption in the dressing room as a player, he completely lost it as coach.

I've never really subscribed to all the Paul Rowley bashing. He was a great player who seemingly got on well enough with his peers and when he had to take over as coach it was so with his back to the wall after we hadn't recruited well at all and had many youngsters cutting their teeth. One thing is fir sure he'd do the job with passion and commitment and I'm sure he'd learnt alot since his previous stint under difficult circumstances.

That said I would prefer someone with some experience rather than someone who hasn't coached before ideally. I wouldn't turn my nost up at Keiron Purtill though due to his assistant experience in SL.

I'm sure Pauls time will come to be a head coach but not under these circumstances again.
