I understand the head coach will be in full charge of team selection and training, the Director of Rugby could concentrate on club structure - academies, signings, contract negotiations and the like and he would be in regular touch with the coach who would identify the areas/players to improve the squad.

The Director role would handle most of the admin at a guess.

It was on the cards this appointment. IMO we had a very difficult 4 games close together especially with trip to France included - started off well (Widnes) until 2nd half against Barrow. I thought Kelly would have at least been given the Batley game, having been able to rest players etc.
Great servant as a player was Rowley, but you have to ask yourself who else would have given Paul a 1st team coaching job right now at our level. I do hope he succeeds because then Leigh succeed. At least now we will find once and for all.
Also made my opinion known already about Alan Rowley, and I don't know whether to read too much into the interview being AT instead of AR - but you can't help thinking it wouldn't look good for Dad to be announcing promoting his son

Also I do have to add we will never get close to SL with a "unpaid" CEO that can't control his emotions at vital moments.

Well unlike some, I have no problems with the Rowleys, however, I have to say I thought NK was doing that as head coach and if he wasn,t who was ?

Wasn't that supposed to be his job anyway and if he hasn't been doing it why is he still at the club? I bet NK is seriously thinking about his future at Leigh. I personally think it's a step nearer to the door. One thing is true though. Its never boring the news at our club.
The other way to look at this is, with the Williams saga NK may have noticed something that was missed that only he can resolve and to make sure it doesn't happen again he has decided to hand the reins over to PR. Whatever happens now, I hope we prosper and start winning.

Well I'm not happy that the first team is coached by someone so in-experienced. I will of course be there supporting my team. I just hope that this appointment was made because the board beleived that Rowley was the best man available for the job and not influenced by the family name.

The Director of Rugby role is one that the club has needed for some time and I congratulate Ned on his appointment. Hopefully he can concentrate on bringing the right calibre of player to the club at all levels.

Well I wish Paul all the luck in the world on his apointment and I hope he does well but the question has to be asked .What happens if he does not do well? Are they going to swop jobs Paul and Neil?
Would they sack Paul?
Who takes the responsibility if the team do not shape up and I am not suggesting that they won`t all I am saying is ,he has surely now put his head on the choping block hasn`t he?

Yes in fact saw him at the match a week last Sunday it`s a long time since he`s been involved at Halifax .These latter few years he`s had an involvment with a few clubs.

You honestly think thats the reason we wont get into SL because of how AR reacted ,even though Widnes where more polite about the whole sordid affair they will be no better thought of next time the franchise comes round again as they have probably already decided who they want anyway and i think that team may well be French,anyway what would you have liked him to say "Well thankyou Mr Lewis for overlooking us this time we fully understand your reasons and agree with you entirely even though it cost us a lot of money but hey no hard feelings" he only said what we all thought its a pity he was the only one to speak up.
