Having previously seem them play at Christie Park, I can't see the LSV pitch causing them to much of an issue to be honest.

Their main attraction of going to the LSV is that they were promised a 'premier standard' pitch, and would explain why they're paying far more to rent LSV than they did Morecambe.

How's the pitch at the DW these days?

, Sorry Keith , much as my heart lies south of the canal , with the Miners facing Haven it is a higher profile than Easts verses Hunslet , Easts however are in with a shot of an upset

Obviously having 2 Cumbrian teams visiting it would be logical to have them playing as near to each other as possible

After Leigh announcing there playing Sunday and charging 10pounds and Easts Saturday it looks like any hope of the above happening is totally dead.
IMO a massive lost opportunity by all concerned.

Will be the Friday and Sunday for me - would like to watch East, but it clashes with LGFC away at Trafford.

To me the Miners v 'haven/Leigh v Wath Brow double-header was a no-brainer. With a bit of effort from all 4 clubs - and a bit of leeway from LSV management, there is no reason that this could not have attracted a crowd of 4K+.......a decent 'pot' to split 5 ways!! We'll be lucky if the two games attract 2K in total.....with the only ones making anything being the LSV management!!!

This kind of comment really does make me cringe, how on earth is the stadium expected too stay open without charging anything?
Do you think that both Amatuer clubs will play at the stadium if they will make a loss?
I can see only West Stand being opened for the two NCL teams. this will also keep costs down.

IMHO I think all have missed out on a great marketing opportunity, and the possibility of all concerned making a few bob!! In answer to your question regarding the amateur clubs - and whether they will make a loss or not. Miners/East and Wath Brow will get a set amount for actually making it to the 3rd round. This figure will be swallowed up by their 'expenses' on the day. If any of them turn a small profit will depend, very much, on what crowd turns up for their games. I suspect (although I am prepared to stand corrected if it is not the case) that the LSV get paid the same amount - for the 'loan' of the facilities - if the crowd is 7 - or several thousand!!

So - please explain why what I wrote makes you cringe??

I have to sgree with WMFC both Miners and Easts on a saturday would have been better for all. Don't think Haven will bring anyone on a friday night.

what makes people think that miners and east wanted a double header? both are proud clubs in their own right and have probably refused a cash incentive from the pro club to switch, its not always about money
not being funnt or biased here but if i was lsv management i would have charged miners more, and this is because East is a partner club in the lsv and for no other reason.

Whilst I am not disagreeing with the sentiments of your posts, I believe that LSV usually charge for stewarding of the stadium, plus a percentage of the gate receipts. Therefore, a small attendance, would mean a smaller 'rent'. However, I do not know what the arrangements will be this time around.

Also, as for Wath Brow, Whitehaven, Hunslet expenses, they are usually paid out of the gate receipts, before they are split between the home and away clubs. Any other expenses incurred by the away clubs, will be met by those clubs.

So - my point is still valid. Stewarding costs would be a fixed amount (based on how many stands are open). This figure would still have to be paid to LSV - whatever the attendance.

Do you happen to know Alan (or maybe Mr. C. could answer this?) - what 'expenses' are covered by gate receipts, and which have to be met by the club?

If there is an opportunity to be missed, & there is, The Watcher knows that LSV will miss it. No doubt about it.

It's a bit rough that is paying to rent the place then having a percentage of your gate money as well. Would be lovely if they waved that one for both amature clubs.

All clubs would have to agree to play on one day and my understanding is that one did not.
