Des Drummond will always be my all time favourite Leigh player shortly followed by Neil Turley & I am hoping Ben Reynolds will go on to top the lot.

Steve Halliwell would be nowhere near the team.

He just pried on having tries given to him on a Platter in a division for which Leigh was so dominant.

I Loved John Henderson as a kid, but the best Centre for me would have to be Steve Donlan. He just oozed class.

Since my time watching Leigh (since 80), here would be my starting 13.

I remember Botha,he was full back in my first season watching Leigh, a very good goal kicker,but nowhere near as good as Stuart Ferguson, and Botha only played one season.

Probably because he was picking players he has seen play, it helps if you read posts properly.

Did Murphy play for Leigh since 1980??

Some good props have been mentioned, apart from my all time favourite. The great tim street, he carried us for years, very rarely got injured, a great leigh player imo.

We have had some good props over the years, one of the most underage was Derek Pyke ,a very skilful ball handling prop,though Dane Weston is not to bad at the moment,he also has some nice footwork.

so you're saying apart from Murphy he's not seen the others playing ?? I don't know how anybody can pick a player that's never played at top level were the defences are a lot better in ur all time leigh X111 when in the 80s we were actually winning at the top level

The clue is "My all time XIII", it means posters name their own team, using your reasoning all the players should be from the 80s.

People's opinions and favourite players will always be for different reasons.

None of them are wrong as they are YOUR choice and favourites.

I've watched through from the 70's and one of my favourite players was Trevor Cogger yet he only played one season in 85.

Gary Hughes won more balls against the head than any other hooker I can remember playing for Leigh and he sticks in my head for that reason.

David 'Daisy' or 'aunt Sally' Hill never looked like a rugby player but what a servant to the club he was.

John Woods was the greatest player I've ever seen.

I could pick various sides for various reasons but would struggle to name the best team of players to play for Leigh for various reasons.

I could pick differing favourite teams though.

All would be in my humble opinion of course, yet none would be wrong.

I was born in 1991. I have only seen us play 1 year in the top flight and there definitely aren't many from THAT team that would be in my best ever XIII.

Using that logic Steve McFlurry and Darren Fleary should make my team as they are the ones I have seen play top flight rugby... although not very well!
