I've said many times before fans like Halifaxjohn are a credit to their Club they very rarely post anything Offensive or Malicious or negative just give their honest opinion for which they are entitled, however I DO agree certain York posters seem intent on winding up the Leigh fans with suggestions of Dirty Leigh ,and our poor Disciplinary record ie AC and GFB who BOTH have a holier than though attitude,I don't tar all fans with the same brush and love to hear the opinions of some fans, keep your views coming Halifaxjohn.

| Quote ="Ste100Centurions"O.k, sick to the back teeth with the constant sniping at Leigh Centurions in Lancashire I thought it time for our own thread.
Please feel free to post any misdemeanours by Yorkshire Clubs on this thread.
Let's give the likes of AC & GFB something to chew on.
& the starter for 10 is.........'"
What are you giving me to chew on? Check my posts on the Leigh board, again as I have said before Im pretty sure people are presuming because I post on here quite often that I am one of the people getting involved in these slagging matches. Anyone one who does that will see that they are quite far off the mark.
When I have posted about Leigh's discipline it has been after I have had time to view the games or highlights in question and has been an honest opinion based on that rather than been based on what other people are saying. In fact go so far back in my posts on this board and take the Bradford V Leigh game as an example, what were my comments on that? I believe I said that it were Bradford who started the niggle and the tackle on Barlow was one of the worst I have seen in quite a while. Bradford get entirely what they deserved that game. Re Halifax V Leigh, the only referals to the disciplinary this season for Halifax has been from the games against Leigh, that is fact. In the home game I thought we started the niggle and said as much where as in the away game it was Leigh who I thought started the niggle and were the worse of the two teams on that occasion. Both those views were based on at least 2 viewings of the game rather than looking at who walked and saying so and so much be dirty $£%$£$.
It all seems to stem back from the problem that Charlie has with me and his obsession with me is bordering on worrying. The more he mentions my name on here the more sheep he has buying in to what he says about me. Thankfully the more educated on here(able to form their own opinions) will respect my opinions even if they do not always agree(would be boring if everyone agreed). It all goes back to a complaint I made about him trolling the Fax board which has gone on for over a year now and taking what was once one of the most regular used boards in this section of RLfans and and helping turn it in to a ghost town.

Whilst I don't have much of an argument with most of what you say, GFB, (obviously being one of the 'more educated' Leigh contributors ) I can't entirely agree with your 'factual' statement, about referrals.
Here's three (33% of your total) that didn't involve Leigh this season:-
www.therfl.co.uk/the-rfl/disciplinary/item?6018
www.therfl.co.uk/the-rfl/disciplinary/item?5865
www.therfl.co.uk/the-rfl/disciplinary/item?5866
The other six were from the games against Leigh.

By virtue of the fact that Richard was the last in the line of 'Yorkie' kings, the odds must have been that he was guilty. Unless of course, he was set up by an ancient Leyther. (you could well find that there was a Charlie of Leyth in the Tower, even back in those days )

This is correct, but they were all referrals that needed no further action. Richard Marshall has the Fax team (almost always) well disciplined on the field now, and the number of penalties we concede is far lower than with our previous coach - despite a faster line speed and a generally "harder hitting" defensive line.
We still have a number of players, like most teams, who like to play the "hard man", and tbh, every team needs them. Where that boils over into outright confrontation and/or fighting, it's clearly got out of hand.
Leigh do seem to have more than their fair share of these players, and as such it does seem inevitable that the confrontations will be more frequent. Unfortunately, some of these grudges do seem to get carried forward to future encounters.
Paul Rowley was a darn fine player for Fax (and Leigh), but my disappointment is the he does seem to condone this sort of play, and for all the brilliant attacking ability of the team, doesn't want to focus on this and want to cut out the biff.
My opinion, shoot me down in flames, but you have more than enough fire-power to blow away most teams without the strong-arm tactics.
All the very best in sport on Saturday. Do the Championship proud!!

I would agree with nearly all of that. Good luck for the weekend. Would much rather Fax and London (great fans) make the top 4 than Fev ($hit fans) and Aston's mob (no fans).

| A a a ahhh humm . . . . .
In the 12 team Championship this season there have been 82 players referred to the Disciplinary Committee.
Of these, 29 of these have been Leigh players, leaving 53 non-Leigh players.
On closer inspection, of these 53 incidents involving other teams, 24 of them were actually in games against Leigh.
So of the 82 players sighted to the RFL, 35% of these are Leigh players and 63% of incidents referred were games involving Leigh.
Make of these figures what you will.

I do sort of agree with you. Thing is though if a game starts getting dirty players need protection and if the ref doesn't give it it falls to your hard men, which is why as you say every team needs them. Don't think Rowley condones it as a style of play more excuses it as players looking after each other. True you can focus on the game and get on with it, like we did on Sunday and we did blow Sheffield away, we also had a key player stretchered off the pitch and taken to hospital though. Rowley definitely does want to focus on the attacking ability but when you've got a 5m offside and players slowing the tackle right down it makes it difficult to play like that, can tell it frustrates him from his interviews.
Thanks, glad to see some of that old Championship comradery is still going.

Strangely, we only had one referred in the pre-season games, against Keighley. (obviously, another case of a Yorkie side, attempting to wind up our saintly players! )

| I'm really glad this thread wasn't titled "Indiscipline at Yorkshire clubs ". That would have been a step too far. Have there been any major problems with discipline in matches between Yorkshire clubs or were all the matches just Hard but Fair...... as is the Yorkshire way.

| I love this thread had me in hysterics (as have the ones on other forums).
What is RL about if not a bit aggression along with a whole raft of skill? Can you imagine the likes of Alex Murphy, Charlie Stone and Karl Harrison not playing without aggression and maybe a little niggle?
