Was on a big contract and missed plenty games, never quite reached his potential imo but would have liked to see him stay to develop into a good centre.

Ok I'll say it!

I have never understood the adulation he has received from Leigh fans. Since his debut people stood around me both at Hilton Park and LSV have raved "AJ's playing today!!". He always ran good lines and had a decent turn of speed, his defence isn't too bad either. But why the adulation? Is it because he is another local lad that makes the cherry and white spectacles glaze over with this gushing praise?

He has played under 4 coaches in his time at the club and none of them had him down as a regular starter. Some of you might say that's because he has been unlucky with injuries, but I think it is much deeper than that. Yes, he does get injured a lot. When he wasn't injured he never had a regular starting place. Under Millward he often wouldn't even make the bench. Under Kelly he was in and out of the team. Rowley never really picked him, only on the bench. Under Shaw he was always getting injured so never had a run in the team.

All in all thanks for your efforts AJ but it is better for us both financially and on the pitch that you move on.

AJ s one of those funny ones , doesn't look big enough when you see him on the pitch , and yet get up close for a chat and he's a big lad

He's committed to the cause without doubt , but not quite sure what his position in the team , he's quick , but is he a winger ? , he isn't a second rower , but is he strong enough for a strike centre

Personally I'd keep him , his versatility is a useful thing to have , and I think he might be one that could be developed , by a coach with patience , then again I always thought ' Cooky ' was well worth another shot as I like my props to have more to them than just a battering ram

If he has gone or goes , then he does so with my best wishes , until he plays against us , then I hope he has a stinker

I think he is a cracking player.

We should keep him he's worth a place 'at least' in the squad.

,AJ is not a bad player , but as has been said if he goes , he goes , we have had Coaches come and go , SOME GOOD ONES to , and players come and go ,SOME GREAT ONES , but we have still survived ,i will support Leigh Centurions , no matter what ,as for the players leaving ,Goodbye.

I think AJ's versatility is reason alone to keep him, but in many ways that's been his downfall because he's ended up being a back up for several positions rather than a specialist in one position.

When Adam made his debut' after a few games I posted I rate this guy he seems to score in every game. He is talented and quick' can tackle and does score tries AND we could play him in the second row although I think he would make a good loose forward ie number 13 Charlie (now that we are back to using 1-13 rather than squad numbers).

No way Frank a loose forward is now either a core player (central defender like JT) or another pivot (like Sinfield at Leeds) AJ is neither, he isn't robust enough for the second row he is a winger come centre, but I do agree he would be on my retain list.

Well Fred I respect your view but back in the day when Grix played for us I suggested a move to stand off. You didn't agree with me then either.

Whatever we need to keep the lads who played for us last season and with a few promising lads from the last seasons under 23's we would still be a team to be in contention this coming season.

I am missing my regular Sundays already and the new season is about 3 months away.

How many weeks a season over the last couple has AJ been unavailable through injury?

I like AJ and would have picked him myself a little more often than what Millward has in the last couple of seasons but how often has he been injured?Sometimes through no fault of his own but he does seem to be prone to injury

I hope the rumours about Higson going to Swinton are not true. He has played centre against Super League opposition at least twice this season and has performed well in both matches. He marked Nero against Salford, a player who had scored about three or four tries against us several months earlier whilst playing for Bradford and came out on top. He scored our opening try against Catalan and defended well all evening. Has he got the ability to perform well in this league? Well I would have thought that was obvious. Does he look like he gives his all? Again, I would have thought that was obvious. Has he had injuries? Yes. Has he often been available but just not selected by Millward? Yes. Kelly and Rowley picked him regularly when fit. I have no idea what kind of contact he was given, but if it was a big one as some on here are suggesting, then it would seem Leigh must have rated him when they gave him the contract in 2008. The length of it alone, seems to suggest they were keen to keep hold of him. Adam needs the luxury of being given regular first team rugby in the same position. He would then improve IMO. Anyone with a degree of ability, needs a coach who has got faith and confidence in them and regular first team rugby, preferably when you are in Adam's situation, in a regular position. Whilst I would be sad to see him leave for Swinton, I would be glad to see him given a fair crack at another club and regular first team rugby. It is not always easy when you are given the utility tag and only selected sometimes. I hope he can thrive at Swinton and improve, in the same way that Mort and Cuniffe appear to have done. Good luck Adam, if you are moving on.
