I went last year and there was a lot of young kids running around unsupervised. This is a problem with their parents sitting there drinking and letting them spoil other peoples night. Not the kids faults or Leigh Easts , I blame their parents.They were knocking drinks over etc. It seem to calm down as the eveing wore on.
Although ID NEVER SEEN most of THEM IN BEFORE and wonder if they were acually members kids or local resisdents kids.G
Got to say Ive been Body Image several times on NY eve and they have the same problem, people with little ones who otherwise wouldnt get out on new years eve will go to place where they allow kids and they will sit happily getting drunk and not watch their kids, Its down to the management to tell people before hand that any children in there, will have to behave in an approiate manner ,or the family will be asked to leave.

Should do what that landlord did and only allow people incharge of minors two drinks. And if they had anymore alcohol they were ejected from the premises

put something on for the kids to do.

Quizzes, colouring in books/papers. Wii games, DS corner, board games etc etc

Keep them busy and jobs a gud'un.

Give them nowt to do and expect havoc.

Better still let their parents find adequate cover for them ...Simples.

Can't see a problem with a 15 year old young adult going out with their parents ,

It's the inconsiderate parents who take along their junior offspring and let them run wild and expect everyone else look after them while they get on the lash that are the problem

My view is this. If you don't want to be around kids don't drink in 'family clubs' such as Leigh East where 'Mr C' has confirmed that Leigh East will always be.

Therefore in that respect I can't realistically see the logic in excluding members and their families on NYE? Within this thread I see Golborne Parkside ARLFC are holding a NYE family night so I assume they have recognised that juniors are very much part of their fabric.

I perfectly agree that Kids should not be in pubs. I have said that myself on countless occasions. Should they be allowed into 'Family members sports clubs'? No qualms from me.

I take offence to that. My 2,4,6,8 and 9 year olds had a great time last year, never seen the 6 year old as ed and I didnt buy any of them a drink all night.

I would also like to thank whoever it was that got me a taxi when I collapsed and the kind family who looked after the kids until the police brought them home on the 3rd.

The Watcher likes to think he is realistic,do you remember those 2 kids in London,one of them was in Harry Potter & one had a sister in Eastenders if I remember correctly.Both were under 18 in a pub or club & ended up dead.They should not have been anywhere near licensed premises at their age.

quite right mate kids and ale dont mix but the only pub and clubs doing well are those that allow kids in under supervision.perhaps america has it right no alcohol under 21

I think some people are going off at a tangent, Shep is simply looking for somewhere for his family to go to on NYE, having been on a Wembley week end with them, including around the pubs, his Daughter wont be getting p!$$ed or running around.

Some of you may find this hard to believe but some people and their families do know how to go out and have fun in pubs without causing a nuisance.



The fact that he's asked should surely show that he's a responsible parent, his Daughter's 15, he could quite easily simply leave her home alone.
