I will tell you why i started the thread.

Sunday was a huge game,the players weren't very happy with the BOD and the mood wasn't great,they took to the pitch for each other, the shirt and the fans,they needed the support of the fans like never before,win ,lose or draw.

It was important that everyone knew the situation,and i know the players felt like that,it was all for one,and one for all.
They played great and they beat a Batley side who where going very well in the league,got a great reception and got told after the game Derek Beamont was going to sort them out.

It could have been different though,depsite giving their all,they could have suffered a heavy defeat and the fans not knowing what was happening could have got on their backs,or given them a bit of stick,they get told after the game there's nobody to help and your still not getting paid.
What would the players minds have been like before the York game?
Thats why i thought it was important that the fans were with them all the way regardless of the result,and they appreciated what the players were doing.

Maybe the BOD should have released a statement telling the fans the situation and urging them to go and support the team,i dont know.

If people think i was out of order,then thats there right,but i don't really care,i acted in good faith, hoping the more fans that knew about the situation the better.

I was trying to get support for the players, and they are the ones that matter.

Anyway,lets hope things improve,and well done Derek for getting involved .

Fred you and the rest are doing a great job with LCTV,its a great idea,and it is looking very good.

You posting what you did made fans aware of how bad the situation was & IMO because of that there was a united crowd & a great atmosphere which I believe was partly down to your post. Regardless of the rights or wrongs I believe your information passed on helped us get behind the lads more so yesterday so it worked mate

At the next LISA meeting I will ask the club representative about the win bonus situation.

Members raise money for our club and we all want a winning side.

Every £ the players are owed needs to be paid sooner rather than later and after yesterdays performance by the lads I truly hope fans rally round. I will throw a few quid into the pot for sure.

Don't think payday was until Tuesday anyway Frank. Sounds like it will all be paid including the bonuses as I understand it. What is more concerning is what skeletons have been stuffed in the cupboard and whether they can be overcome.

Just a thought, if a meeting of ' like minded ' people and businesses is going to take place, would it not be sensible to arrange something similar between the current shareholders to ascertain their position with regards the ownership of the club going forward, and then a meeting between the two, or at least between representatives of the two ?

Derek , i prefer seeing what the Clubs Official statment says went it comes out about what was said last night , before thinking about skeletons in cupboards , i spoke to a couple of players last night , they seemed relaxed and happy , im hoping things can be sorted out soon , so we can get back to concentrating on the League ,Derek said last night , there was still a Cup Final and a Grand Final to be won , so he thinking positive .

I dont disagree, however if new management is to give itself the best chance of succeeding, then a ' clearing of the decks ' would surely help, dont you agree?

Steve I don't know your feelings on your shares as we haven't discussed that nor do I know What Arthur's estate feel about theirs or the other shareholders but my assessment would be if a new consortium are willing to invest a set amount of capital over 3-5 years to safeguard the club and take it forward (more importantly they are the right people with new blood new ideas and fresh finance) then the shareholders should do what most would percive to be the right thing.

For all intents and purposes the shares are completely worthless and could possibly be diluted anyway I'm not sure??

That said every shareholder should be given the opportunity should they so wish to invest pro rata and sit on the new board if they so wish.

If not in a position to do or not wanting to then its time to let go IMO.

In reality the Plan B surely has to be if the shareholders are unwilling to let go it would have to fail and a NEWCO be formed which has its pros and cons as we both know.

Any solution or conclusion needs to be for the long term benifit of Leigh Centurions as a club and not for any individual.

A NEWCO has more cons than pros and should be avoided at all cost, it is just my opinion that the sooner the shareholder issue is sorted the sooner the neccessary long term plans can be worked on, as you know I offered my shares in the past for a nominal sum providing there was proof of investement in the club, and I would probably be happy to do the same again , providing other shareholders were of a similar opinion

I cannot honestly see any of the others being any different, but the quickest and best way to actually find out is to get everbody round a table, wouldnt you agree?

Possibly so Steve. That's not the business of the TDC nor the internal politics, its one for the current shareholders to resolve.

Derek is a passionate guy from what im told and obviously has a deep passion for Leigh RL and has indicated his willingness to get back involved yesterday.

I take my hat off to him if he's willing to put his hand in his pocket but let's not turn Leigh Centurions into the Derek Beaumont show.

Leigh Centurions need major surgery at least if not a complete new start to go forward and Derek will only be one of a number of people who take this club forward at this stage as far as I'm aware.

The touchdown club have announced talks between like minded buisness people are taking place which is correct and while Derek may have made a commitment to the current board to assist with wages if the rumour mill be correct as far as I'm aware he is at this stage just one of the group of mentioned buisness people entering into talks and I'm told it is not his intention at this stage to be the major investor.

It's ok saying Derek is Derek but if he's part of consortium investing the same amount as others and if he is only an equal part of professional board then unless his views are shared by a majority he will have to conform.

Anyone wanting to be head honcho and be louder or more forceful than anyone else will need to buy that right as far as I'm concerned. It's buisness and needs to be treated as such emotion has no place in a professional enviroment.

Sorry I disagree, what are you expecting the current shareholders to do? , reinquish their shares to who? , up to this moment there isnt a name or group of names to speak to, however the shareholders are a known set of people, surely the job of attracting more ' Like minded ' people would be easier if the position of the shareholders was clearly known

the new lot paid the players wages as they did not want to inherit a company with no workers as the club was days from losing the players as the club had broken the terms of contract and they would be free agents

so the question is will they go quietly into the night and save the club or drag it out all season and the club go bust and drop down the league and start again as a new company

the choices are simple stay as we are and die or embrace the newboard and there passion
