It would seem your victims of your own success. Im glad where out of the challange cup, means we can concentrate on the real business or trying to win this league. I also think squad depth plays apart at times like these.

anything better than last season would have been success.
what we've actually seen this season has been outstanding progress which we've all recognised.
also your right squad depth is important as is natural pace both of which we dont have.sadly theres very little we can do about it at the moment.

By victims of your own success I meant your playing more matches due to still being in both cups. You have improved greatly this term and I dont begrudge you your success on bit, fair play to you. But on the night Rovers were the better team this time.

Just a quick glance over at the Fev forum on TRL and there are threads saying 'this is the best Fev team since sliced bread' and 'who can stop us?'. Shortly afterwards, Toulouse duly 'stopped' you. No arrogance there eh? Also I didn't notice any arrogant pr1cks like you rubbing it in afterwards.

FWIW, I thought Fev played very well last night, just as I expected them to. Very well drilled in defence, threw the ball about well and they punished us out wide. Their fans travelled over in numbers and were a credit to their team. It's just a shame that this member (pretty apt in both senses of the word) has to spoil it for the rest of them.

To be fair, one poster started a thread asking - and I emphasise "asking", who was going to stop us?? Most of us didn't think it would be Toulouse, most thought it would be Leigh - that's sport! Read the thread - there isn't an arrogant post on it really!!

Best thing since sliced bread?? Well, perhaps not. What most of us do in fact agree with is that this Fev team is the best of the SL era! No-one is really saying anything different.

Hey, I had no problem with the threads in question. I've no problem with Fev fans (or Leigh fans for that matter) being slightly over confident. Both teams have earned their fans that right. It's easy to get abit giddy when your team is doing so well. Just the other day, I was dreaming of being 7 points clear by the end of the weekend, but that's what being a Leigh fan does to me.



My problem was with the OP spouting garbage accusations and not seeing any double standards in the slightest.

As for balance...

I think you'll find that many Leythers know I, and the special brand of nutcases with section 17 leave papers have been around with the fev few for many many years!!
In one way it's easier to watch Fev when we're cr@pola!! I have no expectations then, don't get overly disappointed cos I'm already at basement level and really know the season's outcome before it starts so no hair raising moments!
Being in such unchartered territory for the modern era, last night was awful at times. I went home with a thundering head ache, a very sore throat and felt sick I'd got myself wound up to the point of bleedin collapse!!!!!! Being top has so many other emotions attached to it don't ya think??
I remember Leigh playing us on the last match of the 98 regular season with no more than 50 there. You were tripe that year and even at your gaffe there was no bug_ger there. It happens. I don't see what the point is in arguing about it. Winning teams attract crowds to see a better product. Always has done.

RFF are there many more fev fans like the thread starter and the latest one to excel himself. I'd reply to them but I don't think I grunt their language

i have not read all this thread, but for anybody wanting to slag other fans/teams off, may i suggest they wait a sensible lenght of time after the end of the game, as then it would look to the rest of us that you actually went to the game. we lost a game of rl, end of it, we played poorly or flat as ian desribed it, we won't be doing it again any time soon. we are still having a great season.

i can't speak for my mate dave (rovers), so i won't. He can stand to be judged by his own comments as will i.
I refrain from making rash claims or statements cos so very often they come back and haunt the originator of the comments.
Thing is, suggy is the only one on here making adverse comments. He will claim they are a retaliatory comment to some made by leigh fans after our cup defeat at leigh.
I guarantee that if leigh beat rovers at por, our forum will now be swamped with needless comment as a reaction to his diatribe. And so the cycle goes on. And on. And on.
I like some inter change. Starbug as an example is good at it. It's done with some thought and no malice. That i enjoy. That's how i prefer it to be!
