Problem being is that its hardly an invesment, and if it is what chance getting his money back? He's already into the club for a large amount of money and he must know its like throwing it down a big black hole, perhaps the new corporate group will take some financial pressure off him, perhaps even a new push for LISA membership and lottery?
Maybe even a time for the trust idea to be relaunched for those that can't seem to belong to LISA for one reason or another.

Thats no excuse though mate, the game will end up (and it would seem with the RFL's approval) being owned by 12 or so clubs (yes I know it happening now but it will get worse) I really do fear for the sport as a whole, the contract system as it is is killing cubs, and yes I know a player has to get what he can out of a short career, and whilst clubs are prepared to pay inflated contracts well....
And the next step is SL clubs using the lower divs to be feeding grounds and nurseries without giving them financial compensation, the whole sport should be turned on its head and most of the money ploughed into grass roots, but greed prevails and it will never happen.

I heard today that a Halifax player (i wont name names) will be at Leigh next year. Good signing for you if true ?

Why the RFL dont want to build in the heartlands before running off to other countries is beyond me. Next season should be really interesting because I think possibly Fax, us and Widnes will play in front of bigger crowds than at least 3 SL clubs oh and have better stadia!

Already signed up at Fax for next 2 seasons.

Would guess at Larder if he's not wanting to retire

Those of you who have sad lives who trawl back through my posts might remember I said this lad had potential and said we should keep him. At the time someone posted he wanted £20000 a season.

We couldn,t pay him that but I have seen him play twice this seaon and I still cannot understand why he is not a Non relegation league player.

He is quicker now he,s always on the shoulder of the player with the ball and now we,d have to pay a lot more to get him back.

Ste,its simple why they don't worry about grassland RL,Sky are only interested in the length of the current contract and what does or does not happen 5 / 10 years down the line is no concern.

I'm sick of saying this but unless "real" fans stand up and be counted we will get trod on for ever more.Every pub in Leigh,Fax., Widnes ,Barrow and every fan of these clubs should cancel their Sky subscription and when they do it tell them why.To co-ordinate this on one day and leak it to the press would I think be pretty powerful, but unfortunately I know I'm wasting my time, as we are a very lethargic nation at present.

Keep seeing his name crop up on here - can't believe people feel he would step down to Championship level, a number of SL clubs would be chomping at the bit if he was leaving Saints.

I still think odds are at best 50/50 of us staying up and know that we must get at least a point on our away games and beat Doncaster and Whitehaven with at least a point against our French friends.

The arguement that sky want other countries is a myth as this years ratings are way down on last year and the celtic clown games are a rating nightmare
