Jukes and Anderson are here to stay for next season both signed up

Very disappointing if true, Jukes has shown he has no idea and/or capacity to grow (no improvement/change all season). Absolutely no idea what Anderson brings to the table, only known for head butting people.

Has Cooke definitely left and what about Purtill

It is true not heard about purtil yet but he involved with academy so think he will be staying but Cooke as gone I believe

There was an interview with Wish FM where DB mentions how he sees Jukes will do well with Keiron backing him up. No mention of Cooke at all.

I can only hope that there's some sort of redefinition of what the Head coach and Head of rugby roles involve, which means Jukes isn't picking the team! Otherwise the stubbornness is astounding.

What's Cooke got to do with it? The issue was Jukes not Cookes!
But lets say you are right and Cooke had a problem with Martyn that only goes further to highlight Jukes inadequacies that he wasn't able to put his staff in their place rather than let a stalwart servant of the club go out on loan. Beaumont is as bad sacrificing Local talent all the time for "his" expensive overseas signings.

That's about a dozen plus of the 2017 squad who are now said/rumoured to be leaving. Whilst most of them are players who I wouldn't necessarily be disappointed to see go, I have an unease about starting virtually afresh, with a mostly new squad. I guess some continuity would have been of benefit? That said of course, some of the newcomers could well be an improvement on those leaving. Here's hoping so. Also, the pleasing aspect of the signings announced so far, is that they are all young players.

As for the coaching set up, I just have a feeling that Neil and Keiron, (Purtill) assisted by the other Keiron, might be a better combination. Totally without any inside knowledge, I just think that Paul Cooke may have been a 'strong influence' on matters. As I say, just a gut feeling!

Onwards and upwards

A few players had issues with Cooke as well believe me. 'Binosh' is a close mucker of Ridyard and knows him better than I, and his thoughts on Jukes are pretty damming IMO.

I have placed on constant record here that I am a big fan of young Ridders. Has he been given an opportunity to cement his place at 6 for Leigh? Categorically not. It is a clear failure on Jukes part for me.

Will Ridyard be here next year? Well he could stay, as contracted, earning a living as a full time Leigh Rugby League player or he could go back roofing.

What do you think he will do?

I am hearing now Paul Cooke has been binned off. Young Drinkwater may be having second thoughts on leaving Leigh and returning home.

Jukes has a huge Rowley shaped chip on his shoulder, unless he stops trying to destroy any last remnants of that squad he will never move forward here. Riddy is a prime example of that.

I personally don’t like Riddy I think he’s arrogant and chubby but atleast he’s loyal to Leigh and played through the pain barrier for us.

And he bought all lads a bacon barm every morning before training.

I like Drinky,and hope he stays. If Ridy is back fair enough,but that means two 6's again or two 7's and who will spit the dummy first?
