Is Rangi a bad guy or has he been reinstated as a good guy?

Depends on whether he's coming or going. Speaking personally as a simple being, I find it difficult to know which of those categories I fall into, let alone a complex person like Rangi!

Two very different scenarios.RB's was played out in a media battle via leakage.Rangi has been dealt with internally with no leakage,only speculation.

I know dear Derek loves Rangi but that is far, [ifar[/i too much information.

To me the statement from your chairman doesn't mean he will play a game for you again. "He hasn't been sacked" if Rangi has fallen out with the club and doesn't want to play for you it's not in the clubs interest to let if be said he was sacked as Rangi will take that to a tribunal.

Also we will support Rangi etc but them we will get on with what we are doing seems to me as an outsider to be two separate parts. If he had put anywhere Rangi will remain as Leigh player and play a big part of our push for super league. Or he is fully commited to the club etc would make me think the statement is anything other than something that limits possible costs.

That's what I thought Dannyboy, it's what Derek 'doesn't say' more than anything else....

I want to clarify a couple of key points but equally importantly respect the clubs wishes in their recent statement at the same time.

Point 1 - I have been advised this story had already broken on another Leigh forum, 24 hours before it posted here. They apparently had a thread going that Rangi had been 'sacked' on Friday

Point 2 - Radio and other external media organisations were also reporting that Rangi had left Leigh.

Point 3 - in my copy of Mondays RL League Express. They stated Neil Jukes would not be drawn on speculation that Rangi had departed the club. I read that in print on Monday morning at 8am !

Point 4 - If you read my post you will establish I am actually a huge Rangi fan as I referred to his 'Ridicolous Brilliance' and his potential impact in the Middle 8s - I also tried to place a positive spin on it by continuing with positives rather than negatives that may result.

Point 5 - Whilst I posted on here after this story was breaking, my intention was to create some genuine debate about possible replacements amongst loyal supporters. Whilst I realise that was at best niaive, I did not expect it to be screenshot by a moderator of this forum and then plastered all over the internet elsewhere. I found that most disappointing.

Point 6 -Despite this being an unofficial forum to discuss Leigh RLFC news, I realised I had perhaps been a little hasty responding to the speculation by posting another thread on this site when upon reflection there where other factors I had not considered. Including privacy and confidentiality to the parties concerned. I immediately apologised to another moderator of this forum and made a request for it to be deleted, despite the story being common knowledge via other channels. It has remained active.

Point 7 - And this is undeniably the most important IMO. I will not comment again until due course as this statement on Rangi is one I totally 100% agree with. from Derek Beaumont, published on SportingLife.

Well I still believe we are a better [iTeam[/i & [iClub[/i without Mr Rangi Chase & furthermore despite DB's statement I also believe he won't play for Leigh again.

Should I be way off the mark with my opinion & be there a remarkable turnaround with Rangi in terms of his attitude to his RL then as a Leigh player I will support him when/if he plays, I don't see his future at our great Club though.

Fingers crossed that the best way forward for all is achieved.

As it stands, we don't NEED Rangi Chase. He's a stand off, we've got Riddy for that.....so for a 'back up' he's a little expensive for Derek B.

Well, its finally made it onto the Journal website, so I assume it is in the print version too (not had a Journal in years).

It is sad that, in the need for "banter" a man's mental health has been made a joke of. Whatever comes of this hopefully he and us can have a brighter future.

Club prejudices aside, and all that banter tosh just set aside for a mo... the British game doesn't need Rangi.
My thoughts on him are not as verbose as my mate gingdong's, but the sentiment is the same....
The man is a liability. We know some of the lads at Cas... and Leigh... And Salford.... players talk. They pass opinions just like you and I do about our work mates.
I have had the misfortune to meet Chase just the once. i found him to be a particularly unlikeable sort.
Though I do accept my opinions were formed by just a few fleeting moments, those on here who do know me (and there are a few), they know that for me to assume such a first opinion about anyone, it would the person in question to come across as quite loathsome.

Compare Rangi then with Sam. Another pantomime villain who doesn't miss an opportunity to wind fans up. When I've met Sam he comes across as a top bloke. A thoroughly likeable soul if a bit dim, and who's company I genuinely enjoyed albeit for a few minutes.
Chase is toxic. Always has been. Always will be.

I've spoken to Rangi quite a few times since he signed for the Centurions I've found him very friendly and a good laugh I hope he gets stuck in and plays out the rest of the season at Leigh
