Good to see the figures branded about and to be honest anything over 4,000 in this league is huge.
Something for the club to really build on.
Been a touch wary about believing attendance predictions ever since the 'huge gate' expected v Huddersfield in SL as essentially that was '8,000 sold' yet only 4,000 turned up but if Derek is quoting them figures then we are looking at a very big gate as I'd wager the majority of our support is pay on the day.

Who remembers the CC QF match at Wilderspool in 2002 ?

I remember reading th local Guardian stating that the game will not be all ticket as Leigh will bring no more than 1500.

How wrong they were !!

If the majority of our support turn up to pay on the day we`ll be in for a monster crowd, given the stated sales so far.

Really hope we can put a good show on Sunday just hope we don't get beat badly then all these new fans come back week in week out this team deserve to be playing in front of 5000 ever other week.

I'm a Wire fan and there are seven of us with tickets already bought for the North Stand who are coming along on Sunday. A group of us went to the LSV 3-4 last times last year (which shows how few games we ever have on Sundays) and you are a fantastic side who play great rugby. It's probably not the done thing to have a local rival as a 'second team', but that's how I feel about Leigh. I bear no animosity towards Leigh and never have - the polar opposite, in fact. You are a great club and brilliant to watch, and I hope there is a 8k+ crowd on there on Sunday.

While I'm here, a few clarifications over the Wire v Leigh QF at Wilderspool in 2002, where you brought 5,000.
It was the fifth round in 2001 and the old Railway End at Wilderspool only held 3,000 at a push, but it was still a great attendance in a 8,500+ crowd and you made enough din. If the game had been in 2002 then you'd have knocked us out (mention 2002 to any Wire fan and watch their colour drain away).

I'm off to Hull this evening (it's our year this year, so I don't want to miss anything - it's always our year, just so you know).

The site of streams of urine flowing down the terraces as the portaloos overflowed was a joy to behold that day - following was well over 3k as we had the terrace to the side and a bit of the stand also

In my innocence of youth (or 14/15 anyway, no comments please Snowy!) we were stood right down at the front that day at Wilderspool and in all innocence were "oh Lanky, Lanky..." rather than what we now know was the real chant!

But you're likely to put walk up fans off if you announce it's sold out. Plus why would you save some for walk up fans if you could sell out in advance?

Can you tell me if my assumption is correct: Coming across from Bradford and will be unable to confirm my attendance until match day. That being the case it seems that I can buy a ticket at the ground if they are not sold out possibly for the East Stand.

Yes you can buy on the day and although the majority of Bulls fans will be in the South stand if that's sold out then buy an East ticket and sit in the South section. Get your ticket as early as early as possible as there will no doubt be queues at the ticket office, so if you're going for a drink or something to eat before the game try and get your ticket first.

I estimate an attendance of c7,500 for Sundays match v the Bulls.
Can anyone remember the last attendance figure for Leigh at Hilton Park in the regular rounds, i.e before playoffs, the match where the old heroes such as Des Drummond, John Woods & Murphy paraded on the pitch.

Interested to know, i seem to recall around 7,000.
