Glad to see we could beat the Salford moneybags back too.

I think it's more what the actual signings represent than the actual signings, we could see at Keighley that something wasn't right with Kes, the club have acted immediately and given him an improved contract extension with no SL clause and I'm sure we'll see the benefits this season.

Ridy and Kes along with Kay and Spenner are only going to improve training with each other a little bit more and it's going to make other members of the squad realise that if they put the effort in, they'll be rewarded with improved extended contracts.

Off the field it represents a different show of strength, one that the club hasn't seen for ages, shows the club have a solid plan, we have people wanting to invest in the club and things are moving in the right direction at a rapid pace, hopefully players keep stepping up like they are doing and we can keep the nucleus of the team together for the foreseeable future.

I like the fact Derek acknowledges previous mistakes in 2005 and a lack of understanding and preparation that saw us fail miserably.

Something strikes me this time about the B.O.M and their detailed planning and thought processes that we wouldn't endure those same mistakes this time round.

Exactly Jimmy, this is a statement of intent.

A top two finish will see us run with a full time squad next year at full salary cap and gives us the platform to challenge for SL.

It imperative the town and people of our community really get behind this team now as it's no longer a pipe dream we can now truly believe!

For the record hasn't extended his contract he's signed a new three year full time professional contract for 2015 and beyond.

Sorry that wasn't clear, Ryan hasn't extended his current contract he's signed a new full time three year deal for 2015 onwards.

Good news that Ryan is staying at Leigh,whilst at the club and especially under Paul Rowley ,he has come on in leaps and bounds.

The club sent out all the right signals from this Press conference and the BOM are now backing the promising words with action.
Things are moving along brilliantly at Leigh at the moment.

The strategy was to feed this as an exclusive to LCTV and the local media and give them first knockings on this important news as they all work extremely hard for Leigh Centurions.

We had a full media team presence and as always doing a very fine job, our social media team were on hand as well as website crew and staff and also representatives of strategic partner LISA.

The Leigh Reporter, Journal and Manchester Evening news will all carry the story and BBC Radio Manchester and Five Live Extra have requested audio from the conference.

Can I just say a big thanks to Mike Lathom who is kindly offering his time not to mention his expertise and professionalism to help pull together a media strategy and plan as well as proof reading and editing for the club. Great to have him back a gentlemen and true professional.

Derek spoke really well as always and its clear that the mutual respect between himself and Paul and the respect the players have for him is a key to our success on the field.

Comments and feedback from media have been positive.

The 'trade press' were there, Dave Parkinson writes regularly for both, and Im sure the press release will go out to both as they are on Andrews e mail list.
