As ive said im not a businessman , just an ordinary fan wanting the best for my club , like most who post on this Forum , im sure you would get strong support from us all if it is in the Clubs best interests .

I'd also like to add to my comments in no way shape or form am I critising anyone who is currently working for the club FOC and that includes Trevor who is working for free. There are some great people working there socks off within Leigh Centurions and they would benifit in my option from a new direction and also a revolutionary new way taking this once great club forward with a long term goal of making trips on a Friday night to Places like Wigan not just as a one off but season on season as a competitive SL club.

Short term pain may be needed to be suffered to make it happen and it won't be easy and will be a mighty challenge and its evident things may need to go backwards to ultimately go forwards but if the fans are part of this and can see why and what is being done for the long term benifit of all they would IMO back it???

From what I've seen recentley and it's no real secret as Trevor has not hiden the financial problems from the fans the club is dieing a slow death and is not generating enough support to sustain its current model. Something needs to change long term.

All this sounds so good , im not saying it isnt true , or it wont happen , but ive been a Leigh Supporter for a long time and am always sceptical about ideas and schemes , all Clowns are , its just me .

I genuinely hope something can come from this and be sorted out .

I would also add and have stated to Trevor Barton I don't want to own the club or run it and have no hidden agenda or have no way of gaining anything personally or as a buisness from being involved.

Same as everyone else here I'm a fan.

Buisness is tough at present and day to day challenges running a company mean I couldn't commit full time to operational control of a RL club nor am I Steve O Conner with a few million to throw at a RL club but I can and would be willing to sit on a new BOD and make a financial commitment in some way as well as bringing new ideas and new sponsorship to the table both through my own companies and companies I partner with non of whom are currently associated with Leigh Centurions.

If we could get another four or five people like myself and LISA and TBC etc on board and the fans to buy in as shareholders and custodians of the club securing its future I will get involved but it would need genuine honest commitment up front.

Like I say I have no association with any previous or current directors simply a fan who's recently sponsored a few games and given Rob Parker some support and advice with a deep down love going back many years for Leigh.

Would be interesting if people come out and back this what could potentially happen.

We have so many boxes ticked we are an RL town and area and have far more to build on than many current SL clubs with the right format and structures in place and people with both finance and acumen on board it could happen people lets at least explore this we owe it to the town??

Let's open some lines of communication and hopefully some intrest and suport can be demonstrated.

The way I see things is that the share holding is crucial to any progress and if can't be sorted and effectivley handed back in full at no cost or gain to current shareholders to facilitate some kind of share sale to raise the capital required to initially fund things it can't go any further.

Anyone intrested and feels they can add value to this subject please pm for my email address. If enough intrest is generated I am willing to initiate talks with Trevor Barton to see what if anything can be done.

For the record I've found Trevor very approachable and I feel we have mutual respect and I have his ear to some degree and won't abuse that. He is doing his best and lets not forget doing it for nothing also.

To get an idea of what would be needed to be tippedi n EVERY year take a look at SL club accounts at companies house. Rochdale have had this for a while and look where its got them. St Helens reserves. Lewes Fc play in what division.

With the current structure of RL. To play in SL you are going to need to be putting in half a million a year..unless i am missing something.

I have recentley been made aware of just how much Mr Thomas was funding us to keep us alive so I take your point. He was a real gem of a bloke who kept the club alive from what I've seen.

The way I see it is we would in reality need to build a buisness model that initially makes us competitive at the current level we play at and grow it from there. The fans would need to accept and buy into a transparent honest long term vision and plan and play there role which I think they would even more than they do now as shareholders.

If the shares raised enough capital from the shares being sold at whatever cost say for example 100 shares sold at a grand each generating 100k this would gaurantee the overdraft and could be deposited at the bank???

If a board were appointed of say five or six local businessmen willing to each contribute 10k per season generating 50/60k per season With LISA and TRC being given board representation to represent the fans at meetings with minutes of all meetings produced and issued to all shareholders in a glossy transparent document.

The current revenue streams are in place I.e fan base and other income via LISA, lottery, TDC, Market stall etc etc so we start with an affordable budget from day one increase revenue streams with new buisness acumen and with a new board driving it and build from there.

SL is a long way away as things stand now and needs to be put in to context weather under the current model or not IMO.

A fan owned commercially driven club can I believe one day make a proper SL bid.

The reason I checked out was not something personal to me (so the sarcastic comments on that line were irrelevant) but just the way the forum had degenerated to name calling and petty squabbles.

That sounds more like a group of small business men running the club rather than a fan run club

The make up of a board would be decided by the clubs new owners the fans. I used businessmen as an example as I presume buisnessmen wanting to be on a new board may opt to also purchase shares.

If a particular spectator or spectators chose to buy a chunks of shares they would i presume want to sit on the board and protect thier investment which as it would be a complete new transparent ragime this wold surely not be a problem.

LISA cold play a massive role on representing the fans properly and being given far more of a voice and input han it currently has. Maybe LISA cold be given shares based on its financial input it already makes??? These are all finer details for another day.

The make up of a board would be down to a vote like I've said I'm personally not wanting to run the club or own if truth be know i dont have the time running my own buisness day to day I'd just like to see a new dawn with a bright future we're fans have a voice and control over a board that work for them effectivley as owners of the club.

It wasn't ment as a blueprint just a example of how it may be able to get off the ground.

The key to me is new and fresh buisness acumen and commercial know how.

The start point is how do we generate £100k pa, business owners can be fans as well, to allow the club to grow. Then we look at how we increase revenue streams to sustain that growth convert income to shares LISA gives £30k it gets £30k of shares in return, business man puts in £10k he gets £10k of shares. 1 vote per share to elect a board with the capabilities to make the club the best it can be.

Does the fan who can only afford £50 a year get a vote and a share?

Why not, he would get 50 votes for every £50 he put in on a vote per share/£ basis if I had anything to do with it- do you get the voting forms for any shares you currently own, I do and have never voted but I have the option to.
My earlier suggestion was £100 multiples though and don't forget this wasn't my topic.

Good question and these are the kind of questions that need to be asked in order to develop a plan.

My answer would be yes though how it all would work is fine detail.

I was looking to gauge intrest and see if there were sufficient intrest to peruse it.

If we are talking about a proper fans run community club then surely we need to be looking at the 10s of thousands of households in this side of the borough and all the businesses,not just the usual fan base
