What position is Chris Rowe, by the christ I hope he's a forward!!!????????????

Chris rowe us a second row forward from last seasons scholarship team and also made the reserve team on a few occasions, described last year as a good young prospect.

Anyone any idea as to why adam clay and chris gerrard are classed as unavailable for today and with PR saying only littler and ostick will be back for the fax friendley. If he had said missing through injury i wouldnt have asked the question, but curious now as to why unavailable

Very low on forwards, Taylor & Ostick will help of course.
Littler must play at centre when fit unless we have a DC arriving.
We have plenty options at playmaker and hooker this year in Brierley, Ridyard, Duffy, Beswick, Nicholson and McNally even before we put grunt at 13.
Would like to see a centre and prop arrive soon.

Chris Rowe is a good prospect, he played most of the 23s games last year, is still only 18, I'm sure he will make a good second row in time.

As for the unavailabilities, different personal things going on (nothing untoward).

4 tries v Super League opposition away is a fantastic achievement and one I didnt anticipate, gutted I couldn't make it and although I expect them to tire with a limited pack it sets us up nicely to move on from here.

Also well done to Rowley and Jukesy, I didn't believe they could do it but they seem to have put a real 'TEAM' out that will only get better.

Phil the Salford cameraman ( a Wigganer) asked me before the game who would win I said Salford by at least 20, he was taking the mick all the second half because I was wrong, was I bothered? was I bl**dy heck.

Aye but the poor sod is a Latics fan!

If we're so far ahead of Salford at this stage of pre-season then they've got issues, particularly as they're a divison and a hell of a budget better of than us.

Good luck to them going forward, I hope the new stadium isn't a white elephant for them.

Having watched Widnes today - who were also very poor - I would say that both teams have still got a lot of work to do.
Widnes looked out on their feet 5 mins before the break.

We thought we'd surely seen the worst team in sooper dooper league when we went to Salford on Saturday, but congrats to Widnes for proving us wrong.

FWIW Swinton also looked very poor, all looked a bit jaded for some reason and the ex-leythers looked like shadows of their former selves. I had Swinton down for a top 6 place when I saw who they were signing, but on yesterdays showing that looks like a big ask.

Scoreline probably won't look out of place for a SL vs Champ game, but on the performances both teams seem to have a lot of work to do to be where they want to be in their respective divisions.
