You said that Matty Blythe had improved beyond the level where he was a strong option for Warrington. I said that he wasnt in Bridge's class and as soon as we had two or even one fit centre on the park he wouldnt get a look in, which is exactly what happened.

FWIW Bridge is probably the best British centre in SL and has many attributes of a world class player but injuries have taken their toll and he lacks the size or pace anymore to be truly world class.

I would agree, however I also believe the current system in place is the ideal solution in todays climate. Its not perfect but not many sports can afford to relegate from the top flight to a completely part time comp. It is still possible regardless of what you claim to find a wealthy backer ala Widnes or Barrow, they just have to be patient and effective as opposed to throwing all their money at a first team.

Its not a contradiction at all you've misunderstood because under the CURRENT system which is what I was in fact praising Barrow got where exactly? Nowhere, their application wasn't considered as they didnt meet the minimum requirements set by the game. But one things for sure, they weren't scratching round debating how they could pay their players.

Regarding the sugar daddy comment, many a time on the VT you've said that in the modern climate you really need a sugar daddy to prop up the clubs. Its not ideal but, exactly as I said about three pages ago, thats the reality.

Dewsbury have just had 20,000 donated off the RFL because they are struggling according to their site ,apparently they wanted to stay in champ 1 but RFL ignored this

Possibly a very good reason why we have P&R ?
Dewsbury maybe felt it would benefit them dropping down a division regrouping (and perhaps winning a lot more games attracting the fans back) before coming back much stronger with better finances or a better plan of attack.
Quite possibly now they could spend another season at the bottom of the league getting beat week in week out which they may feel is more damaging in the long term.
