| Does not stop me feeling sick at this. If Basil is going to apply for a Super League job for next season, perhaps he could enhance his chances, by offering to take Nanyn with him. I am sure this would seal the deal in negotiations with clubs such as Salford.

| Agree...... Higson IMO is the next big thing at Leigh - but needs to play regular 1st team rugby. We are blessed with the squad we have this season BUT a few players have only a couple of seasons left in them and if we are serious about applying for SL next time around we have to get these young lads playing regular so when/if we get into SL they are ready/top players at this level.

| Adam is still a young man and will only get bigger and better. SL beckons for Adam and I hope it is with Leigh Centurions.

| Still feel sick and just cannot get my head around this at all. We could have Mal Meninga, Gene Miles, Kevin Iro and Reg Gasnier in their pomp at Leigh and Nanyn would still be the first name down at centre IMO. What is going on?

| Well he probably would if we are talking about their current fitness levels. Mick Nanyn has come on leaps and bounds this year in terms of his defence and I was one of his knockers but IM knows when and how to use these lads so lets leave it upto him.

| Jumping the gun here when it could quite easily be Blythe and Evans at centre.

| You are quite right Matt, but I have a strong feeling that whenever Nanyn is fit, except when he was perhaps rested against Hull Dockers, he is one of the first names down. As I said last week on here, Nanyn is okay, but he should NOT be an automatic choce at centre when there is so much competition. Of course we are leaving it to Millward. He is doing extremely well this season, but that does not stop us being able to discuss other options on a forum. Perhaps we could offer to swap Nanyn for Armstrong or Evans or perhaps Blythe. I am sure that he would get on at Wire and Saints. Still scratching my head if this is true.

Other options or just your dislike of nanyn.

| Nothing to do with dislikes. Seems a nice bloke and is a good player. Just bemused as to why he seems first choice centre when so much competition. If he was absolutely out of this world and top class could perhaps understand it. Que sera sera. Will still be supporting ALL the players and Millward all the way as usual.

If Mick had played against the French , we would have been playing in the next round of the CC

No , because with the field position we had in that game we would have scored more than we did

| Oh I see. I bet every coach in SL feels the same when they lose to the French. If only we had had Nanyn on to turn the pressure into points. Perhaps TonySmith or Nathan Brown or one of the others will be coming in for him soon.

You'd prefere to see higson at centre before nanyn, what do you base that on?.

| Well AJ is quick and young. Nanyn is better for the coaching Basil brings to our side. Nanyn isn't the only one either. Thats why we have to trust our coaches judgement.
On balance there are plusses and minusses.
How good is Thornley now how good is Hopkins How good is Oh I could mention a few more and you know it too.

I don't do insults , I'm not insulting you , apply the same logic from your previous post to the team that actually played ?
So that would have SL clubs queuing up to take all our other players , considering we did better against the French than W1g4n did
Post stupidly , expect stupid replies

| Both good players. I think Higson is young, fit, fast, good in attack, committed in defence, busting to play for Leigh, has bags of heart and guts. He also had a cracking game in our last outing and I think with a good coach such as Basil, he will only get better. Has a lot more potential in my opinion. He just needs to play regular first team rugby in order to improve. At his age , he needs first team if he is to get any better, even if it means trying his hand elsewhere.

| He must stay here or I will never see Leigh win everything I want them to. Basil is our building block.
Tipping point will be if we make the NRC Final.

Apply the logic you made in your reply to me to the team that played against the Catalans ?
You are suggesting we are a better team than W1g4n
So who between us is being the pillock ?
You rate Adam better than Mick , fair enough , but you aren't the coach , he will make the decision , not you , not me
All we can do is give our opinion , you gave yours , I gave mine , all irrelevant , the coach will pick the best team to beat whoever we are playing
