As soon as anyone mentions franchising you lot go on the defensive because you think everyone is having a go at widnes, i dont think thats the case,its only the system people are having a go at.It just happens to be widnes that is benefitting from it.
Why should i or any other leigh supporter have a go at widnes over franchising ? we didn't tick a box remember,we're not competing with you.

Well if you don't get a licience and certain SL teams keep theirs plus another expansion team is brought in then it's time for all clubs outside of SL to give the RFL the bird.

the only possible way you wont get a licence is if they reduce sl from 14 to 12 teams and thats not going to happen because imo sky is going to massively increase its subsidy of sl clubs.

People seem to think Widnes got the nod and sat back doing nothing yet the club has grown & grown off the field, academy flying whilst remaining very competitive ON the field. People can say what they like but 2 cup finals in a row and never missing playoffs tells it's own story!

Widnes want to be in SL & more and have jumped through various hoops to get their and I'll be proud of our achievements when we get the nod.

Yes - it tells us that a club about to be promoted is way down the pecking order in this league. Not your fault though - as many have stated before. It's the RFL's fault for allowing you to be mediocre in that department. Widnes are the best [icurrent[/i candidate for a license (given the RFL's policy to definately allow one up this year) because you have a millionaire backer. On the assumption that the RL world wants a promoted club to have the best chance of surviving - then Widnes should be that candidate thanks to Mr O'Connor. What has happened on the pitch should in no way whatsoever be attributed to Widnes getting a license.

Not at all, and tbh that's the biggest misconception that Widnes and especially fans don't care about on the field. Yes we may talk up our academy and licence bid, who wouldn't?

But still get as disappointed as anyone else when we lose as we can see and tbh it's a bit ignorant when others ignore that. We are as dissapointed as any we haven't put together a big league challenge in the last 2/3 seasons it's not our fault we look for other positives though is it?

Widnes are obvoiusly an easy target for those who hold the RFL's licensing policy for what it really is.

Mate i am always upset when we do poor, and i wish we was in the Grand Final every year.I would love the salary cap to be much higher in the Championship, so we could dominate the league.

i think its very foolish to have a go at widnes when at the end of this month they will be looking forward to
super league.

yes i know we have made a great start but we cant muster 2000 fans and will be stuck in this league for 3 years at least

widnes deserve their impending good news because they did what we couldnt and have a town that still longs for top class rugby league .

i long for us to join them in the future and will never give up hope.

I would agree with most of that but most of the animosity Championship fans feel is against franchising rather than Widnes.

We all know there are fans (and I know some of our own) that think franchising is the way for the game to go.My views are well known and time will tell who is right.
