Best fire was when Joe Atherton asked the council to cut the grass on the field at the back of our houses so we could play rugby on it. When they refused for some strange reason a couple of days later there was a smell of petrol and suddenly it was on fire.

First time I went to take a look at what was then the JJB (Jokers, Jesters and Buffoons) stadium I had no idea how to find it so I asked a Wigooner who was around 50 years old how to get there - he said:

My brother in law and nephew are Wigoon season ticket holders, brother in law has even been to watch Leigh with me in the past, and he always wants us to do well.

Worse still is a person who is born in a town VERY close to Leigh named the same name as said town and is a season ticket holder for 'the pies'!

BUT to save his face he does come (well is dragged by me) to more Leigh games (home and away) than he goes to his 'adopted' team. NO NAMES 'BJA' but you know who you are
