Prat? why for stating that I have no interest in watching amatuers trying to take the heads off professional players?
All these early round matches are nothing more than a money losing exercise for the professional clubs
I can't see one plus the professional club gains from it???
LIke I said I have no idea what colours either of these clubs play in,as I like many have no interest in them...shock horror, proberley like most of the crowd that watches the professional game....does that make me less a fan than all the 20 people who post on here????
All I see from the first round games is a muddy pitch, couple of injuries and a suspension for a player oh and a loss at the turnstile, great return eh?

I suppose you'll be agreeing with the fans of Super League clubs when they put forward the same views then, should we drawn against one later in the competition?

| If the LSV cannot see what a big opportunity of selling the stadium to a wider local audience and the clubs can't get some sort of deal done then put bluntly people are incapable of running anything .
A town the size of Leigh has THREE clubs in the world famous challenge cup at home ! !
Every school should be represented , every local community represented and the council and the LSV should be putting there heads together to make this something to showcase not just Leigh Rugby clubs off but the townsfolk of Leigh and its achievemnets (three clubs in the comp is a decent achievement these days).
The stadium should be looked to be completley full (or as near as damn it with all the away support in one end) with anyone under 16 years old paying zero to get in if accompanied or in a group(youth / sports club etc).
Get any sportsperson/ personalitys / politicians from Leigh involved in some sort of 'town' parade and the outside of the stadium should have various youth and community groups showcasing what they are good at.
Get the local dancing groups to welcome each team out and have a mascot for every player represented by every club (Leigh Miners youngest squad walk out with Leigh Easts players, Leigh Easts with Leigh Miners and a mixture with Leigh Centurions of ALL the local clubs - including RU/Football/Cricket).
This should be a festival of everything sport in Leigh - if the LSV can't see what a big opportunity has been given to get people to its attractions and see what its all about then they'll regret not utilising the opportunity.
Leigh Centurions should seize it and really flog this as a positive and one to foster good relationships with all clubs in the town (one town one dream anyone), the RFL would love anything like this, its major positive PR - a proper RL town showcasing its RL players and History with all the community and business's involved.
Commercially I'm sure it could be easy to get local business's to join in this event and even part sponsor some of the activitys (with money going to offset the cost).

The issue here is quite plain , it is the Blackburn reserves situation and I understand that the lsv dont want to lose their tenancy , but this stadium was built for the clubs and teams of Leigh , and in the situation we have with all 3 clubs at home is one that the town and the clubs should come first

Wasn't aware they were playing one at Ewok, but I think it's fair to say that Roverrrs may indirectly have some bearing on the decision. The pitch was cutting up quite badly during the LGFC game on Saturday, not to mention the game on Sunday, and the more I see it, the more I think that Blackburn will pull out at some stage.

Having previously seem them play at Christie Park, I can't see the LSV pitch causing them to much of an issue to be honest.

Their main attraction of going to the LSV is that they were promised a 'premier standard' pitch, and would explain why they're paying far more to rent LSV than they did Morecambe.

, Sorry Keith , much as my heart lies south of the canal , with the Miners facing Haven it is a higher profile than Easts verses Hunslet , Easts however are in with a shot of an upset
Obviously having 2 Cumbrian teams visiting it would be logical to have them playing as near to each other as possible
If I can support all 3 clubs I will

After Leigh announcing there playing Sunday and charging 10pounds and Easts Saturday it looks like any hope of the above happening is totally dead.
IMO a massive lost opportunity by all concerned.

Agreed.
To me the Miners v 'haven/Leigh v Wath Brow double-header was a no-brainer. With a bit of effort from all 4 clubs - and a bit of leeway from LSV management, there is no reason that this could not have attracted a crowd of 4K+.......a decent 'pot' to split 5 ways!! We'll be lucky if the two games attract 2K in total.....with the only ones making anything being the LSV management!!!

| This kind of comment really does make me cringe, how on earth is the stadium expected too stay open without charging anything?
Do you think that both Amatuer clubs will play at the stadium if they will make a loss?
I can see only West Stand being opened for the two NCL teams. this will also keep costs down.
