End of the day you can only put 13 on the pitch and have 4 subs so you can sign as many guys as you like. Keeping them all happy and the salary cap under control is the problem.

Millward will get the best out of what is left after the fall out at the end of the season and will have his own shopping list. Players will want to come and play for Millward which is something we've not had for quite a while in a coach.

Personally I would say Dave Allen and 2 Bobs are good signings , as I thought the Barrow bench was substancially weaker than ours in the NRC final, so will be added strength for you .

I just dont think that Coyle is better than Finch or Holt ,so cant see how he will be paired with Rooney.

Personally i don't care if Barrow go bust they will only be suffering the same as many who have gone before them by overspending on players. No one ever showed us any sympathy.

Finch and Holt are injured. Both maybe for the season. We've also lost out first choice scrum half Liam Campbell for the season.

Ballard comes VERY highly rated by all accounts although I have to admit that I don't know too much about him. I think we've signed him on a longer term deal and the rest for the remainder of the season.

Rob Roberts is an excellent player but his off the field antics have been his downfall in the past.

If controlled he is a potential match winner for any team. I personally could never fault his commitment to the cause while he was on the pitch at Leigh.

Whether they go bust and whether they're under the cap are two very different things.

If they are breaking the cap and get to the GF, surely the RFL won't accept that as 'box ticked' for the next round of franchises?

If anything the financial mismanagement would actually count against them??

It amazes me how many supporters of other clubs know Barrow RLFC's finances and the wages our players are on.

I always liked Andy Ballard - good pace, decent brain, sound in defence and excellent goal kicker.

However he wasn't up to the required standard for SL and probably looked better in a dominent Salford side.

Will be interesting to see how he goes for you lot - hope he impresses.

Thats a pity ,especially Finch . Didnt know they were injured , but as I said both Allen and Roberts will boost your side /bench.

We won't be going bust. We aren't borrowing any money and we own an asset worth £5M. We are also averaging 2,200 in our first season in the Championship.

Season tickets will sell like hot cakes next year. It'll be much easier to attract quality players for 2010 as we have proved we can compete and reach finals.

This season is just the start.

This is the point really. Des isn't in the habit of signing players just for fun. We had 1 fit halfback before today, no recognised loose forward, a distinct lack of forwards generally and quite a few players playing when they should be rested.

It is a shame about Finch - and Campbell. They're both local lads and were tearing teams up at the start of the season - including Wigan.

I really don't know what to expect tomorrow vs Leigh. Only Allen, Coyle and Ballard are available so they might slot in OK.

With Fev beating Fax tonight, it's yet another must-win game.

Wouldn't be quite so sure in today's market. And, to be honest, that doesn't matter a jot unless you're guaranteeing money against the value of the land. Dangerous strategy indeed, if so.

it seems barrow dont have a salary cap, and for homegrown players they dont have many of them in the first team, when barrow go bust all you part time barrow fans will go back into your mud huts.....leigh have 14/29 local players who actually play some part in the season.....

No we don't have homegrown players in the Barrow team, only averaging 9/10 week in week out so far this season, must do better eh!

Yeah they will stop up getting relagated and also how many of these are from barrow not whitehaven, workington......and half of these players wont be playing now because of your new arrivals !

Its not about if they are local lads......for the franchise application they have to be home grown - i.e. come through your junior development set up to be considered by the RFL.

Doesnt matter where they are born.

i believe they ave to ave 8 homegrown that is come through the ranks in the squad

And your ground will soon be the best in Championship 1





Oh and we own our ground and can do as we please with it
