| wheresyerball, you seem to know everything and everyone at the club. Why don't you stop spouting yer mouth and put your own money in? You could be our new wealthy benefactor.
Trevor Barton does not and has never pretended that he has put money into the club, he stepped forward and at the request of others is trying to make something of the club. Hopefully it will become more than a shambolic, amateur operation, though I expect not.
Ask him directly why the match day has changed if you really want an answer, alternatively you could constantly moan about it on here and get no factual response. You and many others on this board seem to thrive on moaning without any constructive contribution. There are of course many others on here who are constructive.

| Oh that takes me back.
Every Saturday morning when I lived in Leigh I would buy two Yates and Greers tomato sausages and a Taylors meat and potato pie for my dinner. (lunch where I live now).

| Iv'e just been speaking to a mate of mine on the phone and He is most irate ,he has he says been watching Leigh for 60 years ,and is in everything i.e Lisa ,Lifeline ,never misses a match, etc ,He has been on to the club to register his displeasure , He has spoken with Mester Barton to tell him all this ,and told him that he can't get to matches in the week only on Sunday, and if it is to remain as it is He and his wife will not purchase season tickets this season ,and they will dispense with Lisa, and also the Lifeline ,which he pays to me, he has told trevor all this and Trevor has replied that it is an experiment for one season, but I thought we had a poll and we chose sunday as our playing day He said, and then trevor said "I hope you will still support the club" He has told me that he wont ,thanks to this change, how many more I wonder are thinking like this.

Although I've certainly got misgivings about how the switch has been carried out and the reasons behind it, I think it's frankly pathetic that anyone would even consider cancelling their LISA and SuperLeigh memberships. If anything, if you can't make games then I'd have thought you'd want to increase such contributions to the club in lieu of buying tickets etc?

| Sunday suits me best but like most on here I've watched Leigh all my life and each season see the same faces and most of us are a lot older than say the average football or even Wigan and Warrington fan.
What the club needs is to get some new blood through the gates and Friday nights might do this.A lot of 20 somethings watch Sport on Sky all weekend and stay at home or in the pub, perhaps starting off the weekend with a live game then watching the telly on Saturday and Sunday may suit a lot of people.
It may fail but give it a chance and if its not for you fine but don't assume it won't work because you don't like it as they say "one mans drink is another mans poison".

| The issue is that at a fans forum it was stated that Sunday would be the match day after being asked the specific question.

| Most fans know the financial situation so decisions like that IMO are selfish and give the impression that they don't really care. To make a decisions not to get a ST is fair enough, to withdraw LISA and lottery is petty.
However, why are were 'experimenting'. If it fails we die

| Whilst I dont agree with the change, if everyone cancels their LISA, Lifeline etc we will be back to the situiation we was in a couple of months back and have no club to support, so lets all calm down a bit, ok it sucks ass but its just 4 games as one is Good Friday and everyone plays Good Friday

I totally agree we need new young blood, and I truly hope this all works out, but I could counter argue we may lose some of the very young, the bloke who normally takes his son/daughter (and possibly even his wife) on a nice Sunday afternoon, may want to go straight to the pub after the Friday game with his mates, and the little one doesn’t get a trip to LSV.

Or that being at an evening game means the kids are too tired towards the end of the game to enjoy it which is a scenario I will probably face when my 4 year old comes to the evening games.

| Well Peawapp I think the bloke is spitting his dummy out quite frankly.
When you have watched a club as long has he and I have for some reason you develop a loyalty.
Ok he would prefer Sundays. So would I but if I could not go Fridays I would still be a LISA and Lottery member and might be daft enough to buy a season ticket and give it to one of my grandkids.
Maybe he will reconsider I certainly hope so.

For the child/ family bracket a lot of people will find it too late (a good example is how many families do you see out on a Fri night at 9pm).
Indeed Barton recognises this by saying corporates want to be with their families at weekends (I'd actually add most corporates like being away from work by Dinner time Friday if my experience at Airport Terminals / Train Stations on a Friday are anything to go by ! ), basically its a deal done because Trevor hopes we can attract some corporate support - lets hope he is right as it is a bold step / madness depending which camp you are in.
Hopefully it will attract the 30 to 65 year olds or even the 10 - 15 year olds (although our pay on day for the latter might scupper that) and we start to see a gate increase.

| It's paramount that people try and continue their support & contribution to L.I.S.A the club needs it's/your support desperately. L.I.S.A are doing a great job just look at the 4 players their able to sponsor this coming season. Thanks to the hard work & money put into L.I.S.A it can help make our club stronger in all aspects. Regardless of whether you can make it to games or not for what ever reason with a donation you can be happy knowing that you are helping this club succeed to the best we can be & long may it continue.

Shocked to here that (both parts of your statement )
I would say however Saints, Wigan, Man Utd, Bolton, City are not comparrisons for Leigh Centurions.
Our support base doesn't come near any of those.
What was the uptake on families or children (ie upto 9 years old from 5 years old) watching Stockport Countys Fri Games, orSwintons - they are what Leigh are comparable to not some of the biggest clubs in there respective sports.

We've never been wigan or saints,at least not in the last 30yrs, but our support base should be twice what it is,so why is it not?.
My opinion is,the club has always made the wrong long term decisions or hasn't made any long term decisions at all.
I have every admiration for the new regime for starting to seek the answers to some awkward question.

| I was hoping to bring my son with me to all the home games this season but due to this decision he will only be coming to the Sunday games, and before anybody says anything I think even a 7-30 ko time is too late for me to have my son out when it will mean he will only be getting home about 9-30ish which is way past his bedtime, I was considering joining the touchdown club on the silver package but now I will have to just buy tickets when I can get to them, I have watched Leigh since I was a nipper and to have to miss home games is something I hoped I would never have to do, but this decision is going to affect not only my attendance but the amount of money that the club will receive from me now as there is no point in me committing £30 a month and only being able to make about 2 of the Friday games including the good Friday one. I know the club has to try something but to alienate the core of its existing fans like this beggars belief to me. I know I won't be the only one of the group I watch the games with that will now only make a couple of games this season.

My opinion of how Leigh is currently being run is different to yours but it would be a boring place if everyone agreed all the time.
Lets hope however that things work out well for the club and even though they appear to have isolated one large chunk of support that somehow things calm down and as many people as possible turn up to watch Leigh as is possible and we build on 2 years of gates going up.
