I feel sorry for jukes cause it’s not him behind all this crap rugby it’s Cunningham but now because of it they both have to go now they coached the rugby out the side already same as his saints days things need to happen sooner rather than later I heard two games last week so he might get another game against fev that won’t be easy either be good for riddy to try and get his old coach sacked who he did not get on with

I've got to say I'm really surprised by this turn of events. (I haven't been to any games this season so I'm sure some will say that I'm not entitled to an opinion but you'd be wrong, I am and here it is.)

Everyone is saying that we should sack both coaches and there's obviously something seriously wrong in the camp so I do agree (Jukesy has as much charisma as a curtain pole and Cunningham is slightly less inspiring than a telephone directory) but don't the players shoulder any responsibility for this shambles? Do you think the players are better than the ones they replaced? If coached properly do you think this team is capable of getting us promoted or are they just a bunch of journeymen waiting out their time?

I just don't know the answer to any of those questions, what do you all think?

Although coming from a team know for playing with flare KC doesn't believe you need it we had a good team last year very capable and experienced in negotiating a top 4 or better finish in the championship. So what did we do let all those players go and bring in players with no experience of the championship. And the answer to the problem seems to be take out the remaining flare players Reynolds and Hall. Radical change of leadership needed. Feath will run riot next week, at least it will be good to see a good stand off again.

If you knew anything about the squad you would know it is far from a journeyman squad. Just about each and every one of them have a point to prove in one way or another. There is without doubt a quality team there, who can pull this out of them I have no idea.

However, it seems clear the current coaching set up can't, and changes of some kind have to be made. To allow an average, then 12 man team cut holes in us like that is unacceptable beyond words - needs a different mentality set

Based on what I've seem, these players are certainly not as good as some of the guys we let go. We seem utterly leaderless; we have no pace; very few individual skills; can't/won't kick the ball when we should; and seem to have a worrying lack of desire. As a consequence of the first four games, confidence is very brittle - as can be witnessed by what happened yesterday. We were totally in command, at 20-6 against twelve apparently dispirited men, when we made a simple error, and conceded a try. From then on, it was obvious what was going to happen, as our confidence evaporated alarmingly, and theirs rapidly increased.

I believe the players must be being coached to play 'boring' rugby - i.e. low risk. Yet we are still making schoolboy errors. Our 'style' is depressingly reminiscent of much of last season, despite a virtually total clearout of players. On paper, these players have an impressive pedigree. Unlike last season's team, they have youth on their side, yet they possess a lot of top level experience. (well over 2,000 SL/NRL appearances) They just can't be as bad as they seem to be!

I have reluctantly come to the conclusion that it must be the coaching - plus the lack of the key type of half back who can organise the team and lead them around the pitch. In my opinion, we have recently driven a player with those credentials out of the club, along with other talented individuals, who appeared to possess the qualities, in abundance, that the current squad appear to lack.

After the Barrow defeat, we were advised to watch the 'wide view', (whatever that is?) and we would see things differently. I wonder what the 'wide view' looked like yesterday?

Last season's flop was a collective effort, of course. But why the same fella/s are still steering the ship is beyond comprehension IMHO.

You gotta hand it to DB though for putting loads of his own dosh into RL because if I had his kind of money I wouldn't spend a penny on a sport that seems to be declining slowly overall.

I think it’s a bit of anger spilt over to social media but sometimes people got to be careful what they wish for cause it can come back to bite you. Let’s sort the coaching and club issues out first before going on like a keyboard warrior

The thing that goes against Jukes is the fact that successive squads have turned to dispirited rabbles since he took over. Last year's squad was far better on paper than it was on the pitch, yet from half time at Wakefield onwards we looked awful. Even 2016 was turgid up until Cooke's appointment, and apparently it was Cooke that had words with Ridyard that led to him getting back into the team for the 8s.

Jukes has to go, and if Cunningham stays he should be told to stay well away from the coaching. DB has to take responsibility for making sure that the structure is right. Which means having a head of rugby that doesn't undermine the coach, and DB himself steering well clear of all things on the pitch.

Thanks for that informative reply Alan. I 'know' the squad on paper and 'know' that some of them are capable of great things but there's no evidence of this at the moment is there? I wonder what they're all afraid of? If you were a great player (and I know this because I literally just asked Murph) and your coach was terrible you would still go out and make the game work for you even if it meant ignoring the coach's game plan would you? (which he said he did often). Jesus, the experience some of these players have and they're letting a 12 man really average team boss them about. They're either not interested or scared of stepping out of line.

There is certainly something 'not right' about the squad. Let's face it, to accumulate over 2,000 SL/NRL games between them, they have to have something going for them as players, surely? I admire our current captain enormously as a brave, committed player, but don't believe him to be a leader. We don't seem to have one, on the pitch.

I had my concerns about this season, when Neil shot down the fan, who was complaining about our boring 'style'. (I use the word loosely!) Basically, he replied that style wins you nothing, where a more 'structured' approach is the key to success. You know my personal feelings about Paul, but I'll be the first to admit that he and his team comprehensively out-thought, out-coached and out-played us, in a way I have rarely seen.

This obsession is becoming unhealthy now!

This team wudda survived in Super League (with a bit of back up from Derek's wallet?)
